Hunger pains: Man busted for eating burger while driving

My mom used to tell me it was against the law to eat or drink anything while driving. I guess she is right (and the cop is a prick)

Damn. I've been a fugitive from the law for all these years, and had no idea. You guys keep it under wraps, k?

I won't tell if you won't tell on me. Us criminals need to stick together.

Traffic laws are pretty much all garbage.

Congratulations. You are this hour's winner of who triggers an NSA Computer Flag Contest.

Given the intense amount of data they are taking in at this moment, it would take a hell of a lot more than that to be of any actual interest to the NSA lol.

GOOD. People can't drive as it is. No need to stuff their fat frickin faces while driving.

Oh dang stonewall50, I'm glad you were not a cop following me when I ran expedited cargo across the midwest, I would have probably been pulled over by you at least a thousand times for eating on the run (driving)
me thinks some people these days are multi-tasking behind the wheel. I that person was stuffing a cheeseburger in his pie hole, and trying to dittle on the I-phone at the same time, I might have given him a twicket too, but jeez, it is distracted drivers that cause accidents, since when is a cheeseburger a distraction? unless it's a Culvers?

Personally, I would rather we not have laws against "distracted driving", as the term is too vague. Eating while driving is not necessarily dangerous, though it *could be*, depending on circumstances. That also means it may not be. The linked article says nothing about how the driver was driving. He could have been doing just fine, and if so, this is the crap that vaguely written laws gets us... overzealous enforcement.

I'd rather we focus on **how** the person is driving. Reckless driving can cover anything that needs to be covered and we already had that law on the books. If this driver was indeed driving recklessly due to eating his burger, this law would have covered that nicely.

That's the whole point of fast food joints, so you can go through a drive through and eat it enroute to your next stop. You know, because if you weren't in a ****ing hurry you'd go to a sit down restaurant with the same prices and better food...

What a ridiculous ticket. If that's an actual law, it should be repealed as fast as possible.

Clearly, what should MOST be then illegal while driving is having children in your vehicle, particularly in the back seat. NOTHING can more distracting.

Having flashing red and blue lights in your rearview mirror is pretty damn distracting too.

People can't drive. You know. Truckers are terrible too. God I can't tell you how many times an ass in a log truck passed me going 70 in 55 on a 2 lane highway. They even plastered a bunch of horses out in front of my road one time.

People can't drive.
