Trump is being ripped by democrats for his use of tariffs to level the playing field with respect to trade and to force countries to capitulate to things we want them to do. Democrats here on DP have begun screaming about recession and how the American people will suffer financial hardship as a result. So I did some looking to see what these tariffs would cost us Americans. Lol they amount to a 3 percent increase.
So these same democrats that want Trumps tax cuts to expire are crying over 3 percent. The tax cuts that save most folks 10 percent lol. The tariffs are raising prices and we will all suffer greatly they scream lol. Three whole percent. Yet not smart enough to understand that trumps tax cuts will reduce their income by 10 percent lol. You just can’t make this shit up.
As you can see this whole outrage from democrats leaders is nothing more than a show. They hate Trump and want him to fail and will do or say whatever necessary to achieve that objective. Even something as hypocritical and obvious as bitching about a 3 percent hike while pushing for a 10 percent hike.
Sad part is the democrats drones cackling here on DP aren’t able to figure out that they are being used and made to look completely hypocritical or ignorant.
This is also why it is so easy to destroy democrats in debate.
Your attempt at economic analysis is as charming as a barrel of monkeys on nitrous oxide, but allow me to dismantle this Trumpian apologia. You assert, with the confidence of a man who’s just discovered fire, that Democrats are weeping crocodile tears over a trifling 3 percent tariff increase while ignoring their own alleged 10 percent tax-hike hypocrisy. The numbers, you crow, expose their perfidy! Oh, how the plebeians must chortle at such a revelation. But let us pause the revelry and apply a modicum of intellect, shall we?
First, your tariff arithmetic is as reliable as a politician’s promise. Tariffs are not a flat 3 percent surcharge on the American soul, neatly offset by tax cuts like some budgetary fairy tale. They ripple through supply chains, inflate costs unevenly, and disproportionately burden the working stiffs--those same folks Trump claims to champion while he’s busy gilding his Mar-a-Lago throne. A 3 percent average might mean a 20 percent spike on your imported toaster or a 15 percent gouge on your car parts, depending on where the trade winds blow. Meanwhile, the tax cuts you fetishize--those glorious 10 percent savings--skew heavily toward the plutocrats, leaving the average Joe with crumbs and a patriotic grin. The Congressional Budget Office, hardly a bastion of Bolsheviks, pegged the 2017 tax cut’s benefits at a measly 1-2 percent income boost for most middle-class households, while the top 1 percent sipped champagne from golden chalices. So spare me the “10 percent lol” triumph--it’s a mirage for the masses.
And the Democrats, you say, are hypocrites for opposing this tariff gambit while letting Trump’s tax cuts lapse? Hmmm, well, the expiration of those cuts was baked into the original legislation by Trump’s own Republican lackeys--a sunset clause to dodge the fiscal reaper. Democrats aren’t “pushing” a 10 percent hike; they’re simply refusing to extend a temporary gift that mostly stuffed the pockets of the already-stuffed. The tariffs, conversely, are a fresh Trumpian brainstorm, a blunt instrument wielded to “level the playing field” with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer in a China shop. If the goal is to force capitulation from trading partners, one might ask why the last round of Trump tariffs left us with a wider trade deficit and a humbled American farmer begging for subsidies. Capitulation? More like capitulation of common sense.
Your real gripe, though, isn’t the numbers--it’s the Democrats’ gall in hating Trump and daring to obstruct his divine will. Fair enough; politics is a blood sport, and Trump’s a lightning rod. But to call their outrage a “show” while ignoring the tariff’s real sting is to mistake the forest for a particularly garish tree. The sad part, as you put it, isn’t the “Democrat drones” failing to see the hypocrisy; it’s that you’ve swallowed the Trump narrative hook, line, and sinker, mistaking bombast for brilliance. Destroying Democrats in debate may be your fantasy, but when the facts are this slippery in your grasp, it’s less a rout than a pantomime. Next time, bring a sharper blade--or at least a calculator, then maybe, just maybe, someone in the peanut gallery will be impressed, but it won't be me.
