You're acting like exercise doesn't even factor in like a marathon or half marathon is the only way to burn calories. Ever heard of consistent, moderate activity? Your pizza logic's shaky too; it's not a straight calorie-to-mileage equation. Metabolism, muscle mass, all that jazz matters more than you're letting on. And dropping it? Nah, I'm not done yet. Nah, you're dead wrong. Focusing on the big picture like diet being the 800 lb gorilla is just lazy thinking. We've all been told since the 70s, "diet is making you fat and sick! Eat less." Or eat more veggies...or eat fewer carbs...or eat low fat...or eat more small meals a day, eat one meal a day, eat vegetarian, eat carnivore, "just eat sensibly," etc. etc. etc.
And where has it gotten us?

How about investigating why that is? What if it isn't because we have blue food dye in our cupcakes? (Although I have no problem with taking that shit out, who needs it. Then again, I'm all for removing toxins from the air and water, but let's leave that alone for now b/c MAGAs are sidestepping it.)
What if it's more basic than that? Like maybe how we are told over and over again basically from the time we're out of the womb that we're the biggest and the greatest just for having been born Americans (or X overweight, sick nation) so we deserve whatever we want now, now, now, that doing without is a huge crisis, that we should grab our biggest slice of the pie at every opportunity...literally and figuratively, that greed is good, that doing without is for chumps and sheep, GET YOURS NOW and make it the biggest, the tastiest, supersize that bitch or you're just not getting what you "deserve" just for breathing.
That couldn't have anything to do with how we teach ourselves to gorge from preschool onward, now could it? And condition us to think that any feeling at all of not being overstuffed is a crisis feeling?That any food that doesn't literally blast us into the stratosphere isn't "good enough" for us "better" people, so grab the one that fires on all cylinders, three meals a day plus a minimum of three snacks.

And then how about movement? Real movement, not sweating appropriately to the appropriate painful movements while measuring our O2, CO2 and heart rate. Bikes were coming back for a while, now all that died again, why? Maybe because we deserve to get what we want NOW NOW NOW, we're better than that, jump in a car and go down the block, don't walk...and God forbid our kids walk down the block either, they "need" their giant SUV ride with their own little TV coming down from the car ceiling and their own adjustable air conditioning vent or they'll just die.
I know I sound like an old woman (I am, actually) but Christ. We have lost ALL humility, we are the biggest, we are the best, we should have the biggest and best over everything every minute and we should never have to lift a finger unless absolutely necessary and yet MAGAs are saying we're all fat because there's canola oil in food?

The organization tested 43 school lunch samples collected from 15 states, revealing striking food contamination. The study found that 10% of the samples contained Nicarbazin, a known avian contraceptive. Even more alarming, 93% of the school lunch items tested positive for glyphosate, a carcinogenic and endocrine-disrupting chemical linked to liver disease. And 74% of the samples contained at least one of 29 different harmful pesticides.
The testing uncovered additional concerns: nine of the samples contained four different veterinary drugs and hormones.
But perhaps most shocking was the finding that 100% of the school lunch samples contained heavy metals at levels up to 6,293 times higher than the Environmental Protection Agency’s maximum allowable levels in drinking water. Beyond the chemical contamination, researchers noted that the majority of the samples were critically low in nutritional value, further compromising the potential health benefits of these meals.
