If Hillary Clinton is nominated, she will win...... unless Republicans rat **** the primaries for Bernie Sanders. Bernie may win Iowa, and will defintely win New Hampshire, but Hillary is solid in places like South Carolina. However, South Carolina, like many other states, has no requirement that you vote in your party during the primaries. All Republicans have to do is get out the word for their members to vote in the Democratic primaries for Bernie, in those states where that is allowed, and the job is done. Bernie is nominated. Bernie may be popular, but with the label "Socialist" attached to him, he won't stand a chance in the general election. Someone in the GOP Clown Car can beat him. Repeat after me - President Trump. Hillary, you are fired. LOL.

What say you?

It's not going to happen Dana, it's never happened before and it's not going to happen now.

It happens all the time and it's happened just last election to the GOP House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in his primary. It can happen to the Democrats on an even larger scale like Dana says, but getting the rank-and-file Republican or Democrat to follow directions is like herding pissed off wet cats.

I don't think Hillary is guaranteed an automatic win if she (when she) gets the nomination.

If the Republicans are smart they'll snub Trump in favor of someone more serious that can lead the country and challenge Hillary on her Bull**** while having Trump and his more "fiery" personality actively campaigning against the Dems and their policies. I think Republicans can win if they play on the 2014 momentum and provide solutions to the problems Obama's policies have caused and how to fix current problems. What they can't do is run on a single party line of "repeal Obamacare" and have that be the center of the campaign. They need to point out Hillary's inconsistencies, failures as a leader, failed policies of the Obama admin and point out that the Democratic party is not the one that the country needs leading the nation right now.

I don't see how any Democrat could willingly vote for Hillary, she's just such a vile politician. You'd hope there would be a stronger wave within the Democratic party and voting base to replace her as the top nominee with someone less dirty. I could get behind a Jim Webb who's more moderate and (seemingly) honest.

Which is precisely what Rush Limbaugh's plan was to win in 2008 - "Operation Chaos", wherein the Republicans would go vote for Obama in the Democratic primaries...because as everyone knew at the time, a black guy with a funny name (and whose middle name was "Hussein") didn't stand a chance in the general election....

I remember GOP pundits talking up how easy it would be to best Obama in the general, how he was the weaker of the two.

How'd that turn out? How's President McCain doing?

Obama didn't brag about being Socialist either.

Not so sure now. Sanders strategy to date has forced Hilary to brand herself as more left than she really is which puts the Independents in play. The onus is on Republicans to put someone up that can appeal to moderates more than Hilary can now that she has moved so far left. But, the Republican clown car is making that unlikely. We may have 12 years of a Democrat in the White House simply because Republicans cannot help but alienate more voters than Democrats do.

I fully support this. Please, Republicans, vote for Bernie in the primaries.

I dont get why some liberals are so certain that she is a shoe-in for victory if she gets the nomination. Shes not new, shes not interesting, shes not likable, and outside of the fact that she happens to have been born with a vagina, she has no argument for even wanting to be president. You cant find three democrats here at DP that are enthusiastic about her candidacy. She might be the easiest democrat to beat since Mondale. Bring her on.

She is absolutely horrible, but look at the clown car on the other side.

How Republicans can win in 2016

Promise more food stamps to the dregs?
Be some sort of minority?
Show an absolute disgust for anyone earning "too much money?"
Praise other countries who are more communistic, while denigrating the United States?

No, the Republicans buy votes with promises of tax cuts and offering up the Army to solve the world's problems

Obama didn't brag about being Socialist either.

He didn't have to - almost every Republican and conservative were already fully convinced that he was not just a socialist, but also a Nazi, a communist, a Muslim, a card-carrying member of the Weathermen, an atheist, a not-really-black man who has a "deep-seated hatred of white people"...and that's not even counting the plethora of racial slurs that conservatives and Republicans tossed at him.

Perhaps you didn't notice the 'clown car' that was the democratic debate the other night. Chaffee, O'Malley, Sanders, Webb and Clinton. THATS a clown car if ever there was one. The only thing missing is that clown Biden.

The next president will either be Hillary or THE DONALD.

If THE DONALD isn't nominated, then Hillary will be the next president.

Joe BITE ME getting into the race balances out Sanders. They cancel each other out. That leaves the low information idiots with their dream of voting for the very first VAGINA for president. Likable or not, Hillary could win based on her plumbing.

Only THE DONALD can stop her.

How is a tax cut BUYING VOTES?

I understand how FREE HEALTH CARE, FREE COLLEGE, FOOD STAMPS FOR LIFE, PAID FAMILY LEAVE, etc is vote buying.

A tax cut? How do you buy someone by NOT stealing more of their money? That's kind of like saving a woman from being raped by CHANGING YOUR MIND AT THE LAST MINUTE.

I think the Donald is in it so he can rat **** the election. He's given money to Hillary.

He bought a LOT of candidates. He gave money to Mitt Romney. He's a business man. Buying politicians is a part of doing business.

And Trump is the ONLY candidate running who CANNOT BE BOUGHT. He's paying his own way. That qualifies him for the office by itself.

SC is a proportional primary for DEMs--winner-take-all for GOPs .

Which issues has Trump NOT backtracked on and evolved toward the TEAts since being a liberal DEM?

Just like Romneycare--to the left of Ted Kennedy and pretending he's all about the military folks .
