The R in the Senate are all saying, "No" to even giving this guy a hearing. We can already see the GOP ramping it up. They do this all the time. Everything the Democrats do is the end of the world. Obama wants to turn the US into Zimbabwe. Hillary will mean the end of the US as we know it. Another "liberal" judge will ruin the court for a generation. Babies are being murdered and sold for parts by Planned Parenthood. They're coming for our guns. And, those are just the ones that pop into my head at the moment. The whole list would fill the post character limit.

I don't think a lot of people do buy it. This is purely political and most people understand that and see it for what it is.

Not all of the "Rs" are saying no to meeting Garland. A few, including my Senator, have vowed to meet with him. Thank goodness. I don't know if he's the best choice, but I know enough about him to know he's a well respected and very smart jurist who at the very least deserves the hearings.

I think there's probably some truth to that, but I've seen for real "conservatives" defend their very real support for him. It's like all but the last two years of his life never happened. Perhaps they have seen the methodology the left has used to dumb down voters, and they are giving the same tactics a shot.

sanders would have a much harder time getting his more extreme ideas into law than trump would. Almost all of congress is beholden to lobbyists, while trump's proposals mostly don't conflict with those interests

If he can't follow the constitution then he should not be allowed on it plain and simple.
if he thinks he can change and re-invent and re-write the constitution to say something else

There is only one issue that really matters to the Left in the Obama SCOTUS appointment:

Will the new Justice support Affirmative Action and allow the continuing practice of Official Race Based Differential Treatment?

If we ever started enforcing the 14th Amendment, and ended the Leftie's ability to use Racial Preferences Pandering, it would almost immediately end their power base.

It may not show on the surface, but if the Obama is considering Merrick Garland, he MUST be willing to support never ending, ever increasing Affirmative Action and Anti-White-Male Official Discrimination!

The Left cannot allow anything less than full support for Racial Preference Pandering and survive with any significant amount of Political Power.
