I needed to get this off my chest. Because I feel like the right wing media has convinced their base to despise Democrats and make a caricature of our beliefs to try and make us look bad.

Claim #1 Democrats are Socialist and Marxist.

The truth is that the Democratic Party is a broad coalition of many views. Sure, you'll find purple haired feminist socialist on college campuses. However, that's not the majority and our elected politicians fall under the moderate to center-left category. And this is a fact that can be proven by comparing the American left wing party to parties in other countries across the world.

Claim #2 Democrats are corrupting the youth and schools.

Yes, again every now and then you'll hear stories of something ridiculous happening on a college campus somewhere or in a highschool. But the truth is Schools are comprised of both Democrats and Republicans in positions in power. It leans to the left because most social progress in the last 50 years has been from movements originating on the left. Civil Rights and legalized Gay Marriage to name an example. These topics are often covered in schools because it's an important part of history. And we do not want to repeat the mistakes of the past.

Claim #3 Democrats are lazy and don't want to work.

We're literally just like you. Millions of us work full-time jobs and are struggling. We support better working conditions and fair wages for people. It's a myth though that we don't want to work. I've seen both lazy Republicans and Democrats in my lifetime.

Claim #4 All Democrats do is increases taxes and spend more money

Democrats don't want to increase taxes but we understand the necessity to raise taxes to fund certain things. Education and Healthcare being huge ones that Democrats nearly universally support. That being said Joe Biden when in office he cut the Department of Education by billions of dollars. This was not widely reported in the media. But it shows how Democrats are willing to cut budgets whenever it makes sense. Bill Clinton was the last U.S. President to balance the budget. Today Democrats are pretty split on Military spending with most believing that we spend far too much on the Military.

Claim #5 Democrats want people to 'live off the government'

Absolutely not, and nearly every single form of welfare passes in Congress has been means tested. Much of dollars spent on Medicaid and SNAP go to families, children, and disabled people who need the money. Of course stories will circulate about people abusing such programs. That is not a reason to eliminate them but provide more transparency and screening for those who receive benefits to ensure that the people who actually need are receiving them.

And Republicans are nazis lol

I'm going to be a bit of a contrarian moderate, but here goes:

The truth is that the Democratic Party is a broad coalition of many views. Sure, you'll find purple haired feminist socialist on college campuses. Yeah, largely agree. Most leftists, especially in America, advocate for gayer liberal capitalism, not revolutionary socialism or Marxism.

Yes, again every now and then you'll hear stories of something ridiculous happening on a college campus somewhere or in a highschool. This is largely a political issue, not a moral one. If you view the more "radical" elements of progressivism to be socially backwards, then technically the conservatives are correct here. Perverse sexual behavior, tabula rasa concepts of race, amorphous gender roles, etc. are all against the conservative world view.

We're literally just like you. Millions of us work full-time jobs and are struggling. We support better working conditions and fair wages for people. It's a myth though that we don't want to work. I've seen both lazy Republicans and Democrats in my lifetime.

I think this sentiment largely comes from many Democrats - progressives in particular - romanticizing the poor and downtrodden, much like the right romanticizes the capitalist. There is absolutely a contingent of leftist thought which believes the underclasses are incapable of moral responsibility and are simply aloof and directionless, subject to the cruel wills of society.

Now Democrats are pretty split on Military spending with most believing that we spend far too much on the Military.

No disagreement here. Libertarians are retarded.

Similar to #3, there is a valid critique here. There's a sizable portion of the underclass which do have generational antisocial pathologies which we can't "policy" our way out of in one or two generations. Continuing to throw money at these people is really a band aid solution to a problem that is far more complex than food deserts, single motherhood, and job opportunities.

I'm guessing it's because they have a very strict and consistent propaganda network that is planned and ran from the top down.

It's why you get some random bluesky poster somehow becomes a story of "the left thinks..." and why Trump can commit 30 acts of corruption a day and nothing gets through.

And this is why they win elections, lie, after lie after lie to their base. The Democrats are the enemy. If you notice trump makes that clear every occasion he can. Trump is the republicans president, as far as he is concerned the Democrats are evil and need to be jailed.

This is my only claim about the Democrat...and Republican...Elites.

Democrats want power; Republicans want money.

Democrats use money to get power; Republicans use power to get money.

The ideology of the democrats drives their donor activity.

The donor activity drives the republican ideology.

Threaten Democrats power, they get vicious.

Threaten Republicans money, they get vicious.
