I dont think WW2 and Iraq can be compared. 2 completely different scenarios. In ww2 we were the ones who'd been hit first, the goals were clear and failure was not an option that either side even mentioned. In this situation we were the ones to attack, the goals are as blurry as they can be and both sides have discussed pulling out.

Yeah I wasn't born yet, however people like me (Soviet Partisans) were responsible for 80% of all German casualties

Since I've been here my politics have slowly evolved. I started as essentially a left democrat but I had hardly any knowledge of the ideology I supported.

Since the last time I've been here, I read Stalin and more as well as talked with more people. No I don't hate Stalin because there are several factors necessary when analyzing Stalin's rights and wrongs.

If you want to discuss Stalin, start a thread of Private Message me and I'd be more than glad to debate with you. However this is not the thread. The fact remains that it was the Soviets and the volunteer worker militias who defended the world's first socialist republic which inflicted the most damage on the Nazis and it was the Communists who led the insurgencies in the occupied territories (China under Mao, Albania under Hoxha, France was shared between militant center rightists and communists), so Goobie is wrong.

Also, WWII has little to do with Iraq.

We can't do anything about "ten pages of flaming each other" if we don't see it. Hmm...eleven mods, over 20 forums, with dozens of new threads started every day....factor in that those 11 mods have lives and can't all be on here 24/7, things DO slip past us, which is why we rely on the "report post" feature.
