I have been accused of being one.

Now with AI bots can seem extremely real.

You may be just be talking to yourself here. No real posters. How funny and ironic would that be?

I've seen some posters who repeatedly respond as though they weren't really reading anyone's responses, but sometimes I think it's just because they are extremely stupid.

I don’t think there are any bots, but I am pretty sure some people are paid propagandists.
This seems like a topic for a philosophical debate forum, but...

Is there a difference?

Not you or I, and I am not so sure about you.

There are a few where my thought process is "hmmm.. chatGPT or schizophrenia?"

Because "bot" is not referring to anything that could remotely be considered "artificial intelligence," yes, there is a distinctive difference.

I agree with you both. So, what we have are "stupid paid propagandists". Wonder if those who are paying them know how stupid they are? Or maybe they're even more stupid.

Huh? I am not sure what you were trying to say there.

My opinion is that many of the pro Putin and apologizer for authoritarianism are suspected of being propagandists. (And I mean actual authoritarianism not the minor sniping about this or that candidate where someone may dislike some policy)

I made my own conclusion based on what you both said.

Descartes said, "I think; therefore I am," but I don't think much -- leave the thinking to Trump who is a world class genius, so I may be a bot.

MAGA.

A part of myself slightly believes, since we're just strings of energy, there might be other energy things that control all that we feel and reasons.

Of course, if those other energy things thought that we actually knew what was going on, they wou

You couldn't help but think that.

Yeah, but at what point does the input and subsequent behavior become similar enough that the hardware vs. biological distinction is without much meaning?
Yea i think we are at that point.

I always suspected that some of the climate change denial people here are bots. It's just that weird blend of seeming to robotically know stuff and yet also know how to manipulate and distort it all in all sorts of really bizarre and interesting ways. And then they seem to get stuck on some endless loops and cycles of repetition. The whole thing just doesn't quite seem human.

Isn't AI suppose to mimic human thinking and human discourse? I would argue that a AI bot would sound more human than a real human.
