When will the relationship break down ?
Trump has surely served his purpose but his continued presence will soon act as an anchor on Musks excitng policy initiatives.
Most people live for the day when Elon carts a sink into the white house.

For as long as he finds Musk benefiting him more than hurting him: e.g. money flow and lots of praises from Musk should do it.

So for all we know, it could be indefinite.

You, and others, are trying hard to create the narrative that Musk is acting on his own and that Trump is just following along. Good luck with that.

The non-propagandized public knows that Musk is Trump's well-heeled attack dog, which is the whole purpose of Trump creating DOGE in the first place.

Right, the richest man in the world (and owner of a major social media platform) who's already begun publicly setting the agenda for the GOP is just an "attack dog."

Doge was a transactional payment to Musk for his help. It was Musks idea in which he would make billions.

We might be seeing the whole Lenin/Stalin thing working out again.

Musk is not setting the agenda. He is enforcing Trump's agenda.

Musk has no need to use Trump to "make billions". He does that very well on his own.

My guess is after the 2026 election cycle, until then they need each other.

What does this mean Vance is now? Vice Vice President?

After what, a decade or more of Right Wingers whining about how George Soros is somehow secretly pulling the strings, we have a guy who is a hundred times richer, propped up Trump's campaign to the tune of $250 million, now openly calling the shots, trying to shut down government, fire the speaker, etc.

Crickets.

….especially post election, that’s probably just good business decisions and investments….

Musk has a long history of good business decisions and investments.

Admittedly I didn't think Musk would survive this long, much less elevate himself to the Presidency, but I hadn't considered that Musk has double the number of followers as Donald on X alone. He's also younger, faster, and wittier, with a level of wealth that makes Donald look like a chump. He can move to set MAGA's direction while Donald is taking a nap. Perhaps we really are seeing the beginning of President Musk.
