How Can I Find the True Religion?

You tell me...was the Unification Church true? Is the Ku Klux Clan true? How about terrorist organizations? Or Heavens Gate? Or the Manson Family? Or the Peoples Temple? Or the Branch Davidians? The list goes on as to what is real but is in no way true...

And when do you suppose it will happen, when will people like you posses the earth and people like me sent packing. Do you have any
idea how ridiculous it all sounds. This is a wake up call, its not gonna happen ..its a mythical pipe dream.

Here is the first criterion in your link:

  1. True religion teaches the truth that is based on the Bible, not on human philosophies. (John 4:24; 17:17) This includes religious truths about the soul and the hope of everlasting life on a paradise earth. (Psalm 37:29; Isaiah 35:5, 6; Ezekiel 18:4) It also does not hold back from exposing religious falsehood.—Matthew 15:9; 23:27, 28.

This is just circular reasoning: True religion teaches the truth that is based on the Bible, and you have to read the Bible to know what true religion is? Does that make sense to you? You can apply that to any religion or holy book or even to Dr. Seuss books: "Truth is what it says in Dr. Seuss books, and you have to read Dr. Seuss books to know what truth is".
