How Broken Are the Republicans - And Now they're Eating their Own!

Odd about Romney. Here is a guy that voted against Jackson for the lower court nomination but less then a year later she is qualified for the higher court job? How doesn't that work?
Sure, I'll get to work on that while you explain why Lindsay Graham did the opposite - confirmed her for the previous appointment but all of the sudden, went on his period when she was up for SCOTUS.

You're welcome.

A little partisan exaggeration ,but mostly accurate. Sadly. But as long as Democrats insist on pandering to the woke silliness , the GOP will take the House and Sewnate.
LOL Yes we need to bring back segregation. That will show them. A vote for any Republican is a vote to return the one term mistake to DC. They will make him Speaker if they get the majority. You can bet on it.

The Republicans are in danger of splitting between those who like Trump and those who don't.
If this does happen they can kiss goodbye to the Presidency and a civil war between the groups will be brutal.

This won't be the first or last time such a split in a major party has happened.

You probably don't sleep much thinking about Trump all the time. You need to move on.
Perhaps you should worry more about your authoritarian leader Biden.
Why don't we see more thread about the great job Biden is doing? Perhaps a thread about reduction in crime, securing the border, stopping inflation.
President don't stop crime, People should learn what a President is, by Reading The Constitution !!!! How can they remain so stupid over all these decades into their older age, to still not know that a President IS NOT a King, Dictator, Tyrant or Autocrat.
They should get off their ass, and learn something rather than worshiping and looking for some Autocrat to control them because they are too lazy in the mind, to understand what is Representative Democracy., it's why they submit themselves to gerrymandered containment!!!

that's been a right wing spin game of delusions since the days of Jim Crow, and they went crazy with that "tough on crime bullshit' after the passage of Civil Rights Act passed, trying to keep their Jim Crow Policing Programming In Tact.
Crime is high because Poverty has NEVER been eleminated in Poor Areas, and the ease of access to skill training in more limited; to ensure that happens and remains, that's why Industry and Business was shipped and moved away, to keep "desperation high" because high desperation contributes to Crime, Regardless of the Skin Color of People.

As for the bullshit Republican spin game.

Facts tells truths.

Republican-controlled states have higher murder rates than Democratic ones: study

a comparison of violent crime rates in jurisdictions controlled by Democrats and Republicans tells a very different story. In fact, a new study from the center-left think tank Third Way shows that states won by Trump in the 2020 election have higher murder rates than those carried by Joe Biden. The highest murder rates, the study found, are often in conservative, rural states.

The study found that murder rates in the 25 states Trump carried in 2020 are 40% higher overall than in the states Biden won. (The report used 2020 data because 2021 data is not yet fully available.) The five states with the highest per capita murder rate — Mississippi, Louisiana, Kentucky, Alabama and Missouri — all lean Republican and voted for Trump.

There are some examples of states Biden won in 2020 that also have high per capita murder rates, including New Mexico and Georgia, which have the seventh- and eighth-highest murder rates, respectively. And there are Trump-supporting states with low murder rates, such as Idaho and Utah. Broadly speaking, the South, and to a lesser extent the Midwest, has more murders per capita than the Northeast, interior West and West Coast, the study found.

Those findings are consistent with a pattern that has existed for decades, in which the South has had higher rates of violent crime than the nation as a whole.

“We as criminologists have known this for quite some time,” Jennifer Ortiz, a professor of criminology at Indiana University Southeast, told Yahoo News. “States like Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama have historically had high crime rates.”

Criminologists say research shows higher rates of violent crime are found in areas that have low average education levels, high rates of poverty and relatively modest access to government assistance. Those conditions characterize some portions of the American South.

“They are among the poorest states in our union,” Ortiz said of the Deep South. “They have among the highest rates of child poverty. They are among the least-educated states. They are among the states with the highest levels of substance abuse. All of those factors contribute to people engaging in criminal behavior.”

Until Southern States let go of Right Wing Aims to Conserve Confederacy Ideology, the trend won't change. As long as Right Wing Conservative People cling to Racist Ignorance, nothing in such areas will improve as it could without Racist Stupidity, Racial Inequity, and Racial Social Bias.

Too many never let go of the infection from the 100 yrs of Jim Crow Ingrained Groomed in Ideology.

Go to any Republican Right Wing Areas, they fight any kind of "progress", because they can't omit non white people, so they do the same thing they did with public swimming pools, the closed them and filled it in with dirt, because they did not want to "share with non white people, what was built with public tax funds, and much of those tax funds are paid by non whites the same as whites".

These kind of Right Wing White People have a Evil Sickness of Covetness, Greed, Gluttony, Vain Foolish Pride, and Slothfulness when it comes to respecting the principles of America's Representative Democracy.

The more people call it out for what it is, instead of thinking silence alone will make it go away, NO, you have to call it out, where ever it exist. Too many white people are still like people during Jim Crow, still scared to call out racist and bigots !!!! Others can't get over wanting to think themselves special because of their skin. When these types stand up for Human Decency and Dignity of Social Intergrated Humanity.... Then we move with more determination to advance society. But we have too many white people, vote Republican, because they want to cling to delusions of White Superiority and expect White dominance.... but they are too full of shit , to admit it even to themselves.

I applaud the white people who come to these forums and call out the racist and bigots....

Go to many of these Right Wing Areas and watch the people racial bigotry makes them act like they have a cactus stuck up their ass, with a perpetually anguish about everything, and too stupid to let go of the racial bigotry that pricks them in the ass like cactus spikes, and they are too obsessed with attacking something to realize they need to get the bigotry (cactus spikes) out of their ass.

Mmm... hmmm... this all looked the same in 2020, remember? The GOP was going to retain the house? Whoops.
No. The GOP lost the house in 2018, not 2020. There was never a doubt the democrats would gain control. Here is the generic congressional ballot for 2018 which showed the Dems with a healthy 8.4-point lead. 2018 was a vote against Trump. Independents really disliked Trump. In 2018 they voted for congressional democratic candidates by a 54-42 margin.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/2018_generic_congressional_vote-6185.html

What was surprising in 2020 was the Democrats lost 13 house seats to the Republicans while Biden defeated Trump by 7 plus million votes. A candidate winning the popular vote via the presidency while losing house seats has happened only once before in this nation’s history. That was in 1884 when Cleveland defeated Blaine by a mere 58,000 popular votes while losing 8 seats. You had a ton of ticket splitters voting against Trump, casting a ballot for Biden then voting Republican down ballot. I think this is where the Democrats have misread the 2020 election. 2020 was all about getting rid of Trump, not electing Biden who just happened to be Trump’s opponent, anyone would have done. Maybe even Atilla the Hun. Folks wanted Trump gone. Then they turned around and voted Republican down ballot resulting in a gain of 13 house seats, a governor and 2 state legislatures. Democrats refuse to look at the entire ballot for 2020, they’re fixated just on the presidential. Independents again showed their disdain for Trump by giving him only 41% of their vote. They gave the GOP congressional candidates 48%, governors they gave 52% and for senators 51%.

Bottom line, 2020 was an anti-Trump election, but not a pro-Biden or pro-democratic. You can tell that by looking at Biden’s and company overall approval numbers. Independents are giving Biden just 38% approval and Democrats in congress 24%. Although they don’t like Republican congressional critters either. Republicans congressional’s are at 26%. Then there is today’s generic congressional ballot, Republicans up by 2.9 points.

Biden was not elected to be a "Magical Genie" he was elected to be exactly what he is, which is A President. .... (People should read the Constitution, to learn what is the role of "A President'.. IT'S NOT TO BE A MAGICAL GENIE.

Lazy minded under educated people expect too much from A President. ... because they have never read and understood The Constitution. They sit on their ass expecting too much of A President... rather than get off their own ass and pay attention and learn and learn how to grow and adapt to a changing reality of life.

They look to some "white man" to be their provider and savior as if he's some "Magical Genie".

Any vote for any Republican in 2022 is a vote to make Trump Speaker of the House. Make no mistake about it. It is no joke.

You Should Take Matt Gaetz’s Plan to Make Trump the Speaker of the House Seriously and Literally

What sounds like a zany idea dreamt up in an opium den could have dire repercussions for the future of our democracy.

For one thing, the Speaker Trump idea is growing increasingly popular within Trumpworld. Mark Meadows, a hard-right former House lawmaker and Trump’s final White House chief of staff, embraced the idea earlier this month. Trump adviser and pardon recipient Steve Bannon expressed support for it in February, suggesting that Speaker Trump’s first act should be to impeach Biden. (It’s unclear on what grounds Biden would be impeached, and there are not enough votes in the Senate to convict him anyway, but this won’t matter to a GOP that’s now largely committed to “own the libs” political theater.) Gaetz and other hard-right lawmakers have said that they’ve already discussed the idea with Trump himself.

I fail to see what that tirade has to do with 2020 being an anti-Trump election, but not a pro-Biden nor a pro-Democratic Party election.2022 midterms in my opinion are turning into an anti-Democratic Party election, but not a pro-Republican Party one. In 2020, Biden just happened to be the alternative to Trump as in 2022, Republican Party candidates are the alternative to the democratic party candidates.

Fact is in any election, you have approximately 25% of the voting public voting against a candidate or party, but not for anything, party or candidate. I call these folks the anti-vote. Those who just vote against a candidate or party, who the other candidate or party is means nothing to them. They just want the candidate or party they’re voting against to lose. Who wins is irrelevant as long as it wasn’t the candidate or party they were voting against. Biden won the anti-voters in 2020 68-30 over Trump. Those who just voted against someone, not for anyone. Those 68% weren’t voting for Biden, they weren’t Biden supporters, they were just voting against Trump. Heck, Atilla the Hun would have gotten their vote if he was Trump’s opponent in 2020.

The better scenario is: Trump is soon in Jail, or has a massive stroke or a devastating heart attack.... any of those options would be good for America.

Wealth and Power Corrupts- As Politician Gain Wealthy, they Lust for Power. They develop a delusion that they no longer need to represent the people, they began to want to 'dictate over the people" and think they are both above the law and do not have to respect regulatory governing principles.
We saw it on a mass scale with the Confederacy Plantation Wealthy, They made themselves void of respect for humanity, and their wealth led them to delusion they did not have to respect the government.
(These are the same type people who came to America chasing wealthy by any means, rather than coming to respect the principles and value of American Democracy)
Greed, Vanity and Racism and the Lust For Wealth... has made too many of "man" into barbarians and they engage savagery.

Something within White Skin people who came here, chose not to try and work and live with the Native America, they tried to abuse them, enslave them, rape them and when they would not submit they killed them and stole their land. It started with Colombus! and the inhumanity of it has reverbrated to this very day.
They did not come to learn the people, respect their cultural habits, or their spiritual ideology. White Men every place they go, they want to send in their Missionaries to Indoctrinate the people into their interpertation of Religion. The same Religion they themselves don't uphold and honor.
Native Indians, Mexican who inhabited this land, did not kill the animals just for sport, they only killed the animals for survival, and they utilized everything, because they saw it as a evil against the spiritual ideals, to waste any part of the animal life they had taken. No one said they were angels, but they did have their own system of how they dealt with one another, through trade and even when they went to war against other tribes. American history had no regard to documents the real truths of the Tribes. Instead, the people from Various locations of Europe, came here trying to call the people "savages', when fact resulted that the true savage was those who came by ships seeking wealthy by any means.

The cycle of madness that has gone on for Centuries, and no man in any genertation has ever taken anything with them from this earth,
We still have man today, chasing the delusion of massive Land ownership, just for the greed and vanity of saying they own it, the delusion of thinking having More will make one better, when it only makes man a slave to that which he thinks he own, and what he thinks he owns, actually owns his soul. He become barbaric, and savagery fills in the void.

We have people who become so caught up in desperation for material things, until they "ignore learning", and we have some men who use learning, not to do good for society, but to become a gultton, desperate to live a life of slothfulness wrapped in vanity and the pride of a fool. Time brings death to them, just as it does to any others who live. All things belong to God, man can take nothing from this word, but his vanity and greed can and does damage so much.

Just as God made variety in All things, man's vanity and fools pride does not let him appreciate the variety in the imagery of mankind. God has given man the knowledge to know "the blood of life" is transferrable in mankind, no one has any special blood that makes him uniquely better than another. every being has the same body organs, and they too are transferrable. Age, brings all to a realization that they will become frail, no matter how much ignorance makes them brutish in their youth. No amount of money can nor will change those things. No man lives without food, water and sleep.... and no matter how much one lust for gluttony, he can only eat so much before it takes its toll, he can lust for sex, but he can only engage it in limited time that expends himself, a fool who hoards money only diminished the value of the same money he hoards.

The Cultism of Political Party Ideology has made mankind even more foolish.

Proverbs 29:9

If a wise man has an argument with a fool, the fool only rages and laughs, and there is no quiet.

Stop comparing Trump to the infamous racist George Wallace. It's unfair to Wallace

It is entirely plausible to liken Trump to the Wallace who exists most vividly in public memory. That Wallace declared in his initial inaugural address, in 1963, “Segregation today! Segregation tomorrow! Segregation forever!” That Wallace blocked the door of the administration building at the University of Alabama to defy federal troops seeking to enroll two black students.

That Wallace set state troopers loose with whips and truncheons on the Selma marches on “Bloody Sunday” in 1965. That Wallace exuded the truculent, hateful aura that surely nourished the white terrorists who bombed a Birmingham black church, killing four little girls. And that Wallace showed shocking appeal to northern whites in his 1968 and 1972 presidential bids.

While Trump does not have such blood directly on his hands, he has campaigned and governed on the basis of racist dog-whistles about restoring a formerly “great” America. Racial intolerance has been perhaps the only consistent part of Trump’s political character; it runs unbroken from discriminating against blacks in his family’s apartment empire, to demanding the death penalty for the wrongfully convicted Central Park Five, to trumpeting the birther lie about Barack Obama, to urging the crowds at his rallies to rough up black protesters, to rhetorically defending neo-Nazis and Confederate symbols as president.

And Trump’s denunciations and policies against Muslims, Mexicans, Central American immigrants, and African “shithole countries,” topped off by inciting anti-Chinese sentiment during the Covid-19 pandemic, make him a more expansive bigot than Wallace ever was.

My point, though, is not that Wallace is bad to Trump’s worse. There were, in fact, two other versions of Wallace beside the race-baiting instigator, versions that have been understandably occluded by the vile role he played as governor.

The first Wallace was a small-town populist who ran for office on class issues and declined to play the race card. He even refused to join most southern delegates in walking out of the 1948 Democratic convention to protest the party’s endorsement of civil rights. Only after losing a gubernatorial primary in 1958 to a more hardline segregationist opponent did Wallace infamously decide that he would “never be out-niggered again”.

He certainly kept that hideous promise. But in fanning the whirlwind of hate and white resentment, Wallace became its victim. He was shot and left paralyzed by a would-be assassin during the 1972 campaign. While his attacker’s motives remained murky, it was hard to miss the fierce moral lesson: a stoker of violence had fallen victim to it.

Over the succeeding years, that lesson appeared to sink into Wallace, too, magnified by the incessant physical pain he suffered. In an almost biblical way, suffering led to insight, and insight to redemption.

On a Sunday morning in 1979, Wallace rolled his wheelchair down the aisle of Dexter Avenue baptist church in Montgomery, which had been Martin Luther King’s pulpit during the bus boycott in 1956, to ask forgiveness of its members.

“I have learned what suffering means,he said, according to a biography by Stephan Lesher. “In a way that was impossible, I think I can understand something of the pain black people have come to endure. I know I contributed to that pain, and I can only ask your forgiveness.”

During his term, Wallace met privately with Coretta Scott King and the Rev Jesse Jackson during a four-day reenactment of the second, successful march from Selma to Montgomery. At the 30th anniversary of the Selma march, in 1995, Wallace sang “We Shall Overcome” with his former adversaries and victims.

As I said: penance means concrete deeds, not just lofty words. Deeds tell the tale.

Some men can be redeemed, and some can't... but life will by its own means, bring Trump is own tragedy... his vile is so deep it likely will take a massive stroke to bring him to silence from the madness he spews.

Yep, that's me. Circa 1976. Standing over George Wallace's left shoulder. Yes, the George Wallace. The stand-in-the-door-blocking-black-students-from-enrolling-at-the-University-of-Alabama-in-1963 Governor George C. Wallace. The man who spewed hate, racism and more hate.

People ask me how I could stand there with him? Why I'm even willing to show the world this picture?

My answer is quite simple. Change.

I believe with all of my being that it is possible for people to change -- and change drastically even. How do I know that? Because I know that I, myself, have changed. And I must allow that to apply to others. If you know George Wallace's story, you know that he recanted his racist views and asked forgiveness from African-Americans. Some argue about the motivators behind his change-of-heart. Some didn't believe him. Some wouldn't believe him. Wouldn't forgive. I say, whatever starts that step toward change -- embrace it. Accept it.

I ask you: How do we move forward if we won't forgive? If we won't believe that type of change is possible?

We say we want change. We say enough is enough. We say it is time. But are we allowing the change we are demanding? If you can forgive, then you will be able to avoid creating a worldview that is rooted in stereotypes. All people of one demographic are not the same. There are good and bad people in both genders and all races. I believe, as I hope you do, that there are more good. However, if we don't keep our hearts open, we are limiting the possibilities of building the capability to connect across differences in the future.

I have a challenge for each of us.

Today, get to know someone different from you. Someone who comes from a different background. Someone who has different perspectives, different biases, different stereotypes. Listen and talk to this person (but listen more). Be curious. Don't be fearful. Yes, it will get messy. Yes, you have to be wiling to go beyond "PC." Get your questions answered. Invest the time to connect. Really connect.

If we each do this, I guarantee a change in our worldview. And if we encourage others to do this along with us, we will experience meaningful and authentic change.
end quote

Black people from the days of slavery to the racial tragadies of this day and time, black people have always been willing to "Forgive". Yet, some take that forgiveness for weakness and abuse the gracefullness of being forgiveness.

Yet, some white people are trying to hide the history, as they don't honor the forgiveness that has been given, as they have not forgiven themselves, and thus seek to try and hide the truth, that led to what has been forgiven of their ancestry. That failure to learn and accept forgiveness... feeds their own fears.
Black people have never set out on a mission of retribution. But have marched and pleaded for centuries and decades for "unity", for all mankind to honor the principles and values that "All Men Are Created Equal In The Eyes of God" and within America, it is "WE" THE PEOPLE.. WHO MAKE UP AMERICAN SOCIETY, ALL OF US.
Our System of honesty and fairness, by laws of the land supports "one man, one vote". (both for man and woman) is foundational to Our Representative Democracy.

No Man or Woman shall never be "King or Queen" of America

MTG just accused all the Republicans, like Mitt Romney, who voted to confirm Jackson, "Pro-pedophile".

Tennessee just almost passed a law to allow child marriage.

Texas and Idaho have passed laws that criminalizes Abortion and encourages Salem Witch Trial like behavior of fellow citizens.

They still claim the most secure election ever was stolen

They expel Liz Cheney, but hey, Matt Gaetz? No problem - MTG? C'mon in...

They don't feel cops are murdering black people, despite all the video evididence

They think BLM is more harmful to this nation than the Republicans trying to bring our democracy down.

How can anyone support that broken party anymore?
...and then they lie and deny it all.

The answer is simple: Those with an affliction of Barbarism... where no acts of Savagery is unacceptable to being a part of their ideology.

A little partisan exaggeration ,but mostly accurate. Sadly. But as long as Democrats insist on pandering to the woke silliness , the GOP will take the House and Sewnate.
What exactly is woke ?
  1. alert to injustice in society, especially racism.
"we need to stay angry, and stay woke"

Was going to like your post until the very end.

DeathSantis is trump with a brain.
DeSantis is still Trump mentality .........

The Republicans are in danger of splitting between those who like Trump and those who don't.
If this does happen they can kiss goodbye to the Presidency and a civil war between the groups will be brutal.

This won't be the first or last time such a split in a major party has happened.
If these Republican white people attack each other, that's on them!!! The wealthy have already began to gather to create a third factions of Republicanism, because they hate paying taxes and do not respect regulatory governing principles and they want to install their own Plutocratic Autocrat.... Each factions of Republicanism, The Racist, The Bigots and Greed Mongering Wealthy has their eyes set on forms of Plutocratic Autocracy.... IF they wipe each other out, it won't be a great loss for America.

  • The wealthy can no longer control the monster(s) they created, under one banner; so they want to be their own "monster", to challenge the "monster(s) they created"

The Democracy loving American who respect diversity of multi ethnic and multicultural society... should stand back and let the "Republicans demolish and consume each other".
