House speaker removes painted breasts - The Local

This is in Sweden.

The deputy speaker of Sweden's Riksdag has tired of the bare breasts adorning the walls in parliament and has ensured the removal of the offending painting from the parliament's dining room. The nude named Juno, painted by baroque artist G E Schröder, had hung in the guest dining room for some 30 years before deputy speaker Susanne Eberstein decided enough was enough.

Eberstein's will was the janitor's command and one day Juno was gone, and the flaunted flesh beamed down no more on visitors to Sweden's national assembly.

The artistic omission did not go unnoticed however and when news agency TT began to ask questions of the Riksdag administration department reactions were characterized mostly by embarrassed giggling.

May the gal in the painting had a bigger pair than the deputy speaker and she was embarrassed.

Well, she said it was about discomfort of some kind:

"I think it is more a feminist issue. It's tiresome (looking at) a bare-breasted woman when I sit at public dinners with foreign guests. I think it feels a little hard to sit there with men who look at us women," Social Democrat Susanne Eberstein explained.

So are breasts, especially in art, good, bad, what? Our Leftist and European betters seem to be a bit confused. To whom can benighted Americans turn on the matter? Landru, guide us!

Probably safe to conclude that if the speaker was better looking with larger, more attractive breasts, that picture would have been much more prominently displayed, rather than removed.

Kind of a "Just compare these to that silly bch" sort of approach.

Men who look at women, perhaps she meant men who look at the picture instead of her. one could take that many ways.

Kind of a "Take a look at the rest, now here's the best" kind of approach.

Yep...........I kind of come to the same conclusion.

Perhaps she was simply jealous since the picture never aged in those 30 long years. ;)

Does anyone have a recent photo of her? Swedish women are usually thought of as being sexy. Maybe those women don't get into politics? It would be interesting to see......

I don't know what she looks like. I really have no desire to find out.

Okaaay! Nuff said! :lamo:

Greetings, Sedan. :2wave:

See, I could have done without the one on the right. Like I said I had no desire and I might add, I have no desires what so ever.
