House Democrats propose $410B spending bill
House Democrats propose $410B spending bill - Yahoo! Finance
WASHINGTON (AP) -- House Democrats unveiled a $410 billion spending bill on Monday to keep the government running through the end of the fiscal year, setting up the second political struggle over federal funds in less than a month with Republicans.
The measure includes thousands of earmarks, the pet projects favored by lawmakers but often criticized by the public in opinion polls. There was no official total of the bill's earmarks, which accounted for at least $3.8 billion.
The legislation, which includes an increase of roughly 8 percent over spending in the last fiscal year, is expected to clear the House later in the week.
When does it end?
Well, it looks like the liberals who complained about how much the republicans spent now have egg all over their face. This congress will outspend the past 8 years in this current session alone at the present rate. To those conservatives, like myself, who have been complaining about how much the republicans have been spending, are ****ing pissed. This lunacy has to stop and stop now. The road we're on isn't a slippery slope anymore, it's a tall slide with razor blades on it that ends in a pool of acid.

I see things have "changed" in DC.
They're complaining about how much the dems are spending? Really? This is news to me because I'm just not seeing it. All I'm seeing is silence. So are those liberals that have been complaining.

But when the economy was sliding when Bush was sworn in, the liberals denied that Clinton had anything to do with it. I guess it doesn't work both ways huh? :roll:Bush did not inherit an economy in shambles. Obama did.
Huge difference, don't you think?
What is happening now is unprecedented. The spending that is occurring is to save the US from going under. It might work out, or it may be a total disaster, but something had to be done.

Nothing would be better than the spendulus bill they just passed. It's more spending of money than ever before - and we don't even have that money.
And BTW, the housing crisis is what led to the economic collapse we are seeing. We can thank Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton for that one. But let's not let facts get in the way of our emotional ranting, K?
only one politician ran for POTUS with an actual plan to reduce the size of the federal government.
Ooo, ooo, I know the answer to this one!
Who is, George Washington!

So the tech bubble didn't burst there MG?
there was not an attack on september 11th 2001?
field mice protection wont save the us economy.
You're comparing the tech bubble to what has happened recently? Your really think they are equivalent?????
When does it end?
did i make an equivelency argument or did i counter the notion the economy was perfect when bush took office?
You did make it seem that they were comparable. They are not. What Obama has inherited dwarfs anything that any President has experienced in recent memory, bar none. Besides an economy on the verge of collapse, there's huge problems with infrastructure, education and healthcare, let alone a very unpopular war. According to his speech last evening, it looks like he'll try to tackle them all. If successful, I will give full credit to Conservatives who have called him Messiah.
Godspeed, Barack.
the economy was worse in the 80s that Reagan fixed. sorry.
