House Democrats on Monday unveiled a 2014 budget proposal that includes $1.2 trillion in new taxes and $200 billion in stimulus spending.

That's about twice the level of stimulus spening that what was in the Senate Democratic budget, which included $975 million in new taxes.

Now we have a third budget from congress, and still not a first one from the White House who was supposed to turn one in almost two months ago. In any case, this budget is pretty standard liberal policies. Tax the rich, redistribute wealth, pave the country over, and borrow trillions of dollars to do it.

over ten years

-raise taxes by 1.2 trillion, mainly on the rich and corporations
-remove sequestration (spend more)
-balance the budget in 30 years!
-double transportation budget projects

Appease unions, attempt to divert blame on sequestration, and play on class warfare. Standard fare.

Wow they're idiots.

Pretty much, they just stick to code words that they know the idiot voters will suck up. Infrastructure, loop holes, etc.

I wonder which budget polls better with the American public? The Republican budget or the Democratic Parties budget?

Yes, the last thing the GOP wants to do is put people to work at good wages building up the future of America's economic base.

Thanks for admitting that.

Yeah, code words like basic economic principles of investing in infrastructure and avoiding the industrial collapse austerity caused in Europe.

How's that triple dip recession thingie working out for ya in England?

THATS what that said to you... :lamo

Pathetic thing is...you actually believe what you see.

The truly pathetic words are the one the right utters when it dishonestly claims that they want Obama to propose a budget.

Yeah those unions sure are contributing much beyond trillions in unfunded pension liabilities for state and federal governments.

Cause we all know unsustainable liabilities are the core of a strong economy.

God forbid someone try to fix the problem without being labeled anti-worker tea party nut.

But that would take proper reasoning skills and the willingness to remain objective, so I'm not holding my breath.

A Democrat budget that is nothing but tax raises and more spending, gee what a surprise.

Which bill is more popular with people with their Hand's out, gee what a surprise.

Since liberals keep saying there is no debt problem and that we can sustain endless debt and print endless money without consequence why do we need taxes at all? Why not end taxes completely and just print everyone a couple million?

If it goes through want to bet that the "middle class" will get hit just as hard as the 1%ers?

"The House Democratic budget, authored by Budget Committee Ranking Member Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), would raise $1.2 trillion in revenue over ten years by ending tax breaks for both corporations and individuals" (from the op link).
What tax breaks? Wonder if the home loan interest would be one of them?

I thought the democrats cared about the middle class. Looks like not anymore.

How dare you question their benevolence? Don't worry once you become dependent on the nanny state you will be well taken care of.

as I say most Democrats never saw a tax hike they didn't like.

Right...left...thats part of the problem. You think it matters. I dont think Obama should submit a budget. The last few times he didnt he couldnt get a single senator to vote for it so its pretty much a colossal waste of time.

What is tragic is that we can all look at our personal finances and understand the drill, but when it comes to our future, our childrens future, and our grandkids future...meh...whatever...

The house democrats proposed their budget as a 'stunt'. There is no way that budget has a snowballs chance in hell of passing and they know it. Thats pathetic. Its pathetic the GOP wont sit down and work with democrats to find a real working budget solution. It is most pathetic citizens self identify as republicans and democrats and keep sending those assbags back to do the same ****ty job and argue over who is more ****ed up.

Makes just as much sense as saying Republicans never saw a rich man's taxes they didn't want a poor man to pay.

I would be happy with another sequestration.

If they can't pass a balanced budget, they should have another sequestration. Start by cutting their salaries. Then their aides. Throw some calligraphers into the mix as well. That should get them to work.

100bn a year isnt much overall, so likely they would eliminate them for the rich only. I doubt there is any way the non rich will give up their deductions.

Hes required by law to submit a budget, and it makes sense given his knows best given he directly supervises the departments.

Eventually the mortgage interest deduction should be done away with. Probably not in the current environment.

you miss the point. the dems 2014 budget is going to hit the middle class. Didn't they say they wanted to protect the middle class?

THere are no details in this budget that indicate the tax deductions will be eliminated for the middle class.
