You had poor grades in high school and she had honor grades that makes the scenario a bit different. If she did so well in school. Wasn’t the teacherDoing a good job? It’s hard to fake high grades
So pay me what an accountant gets per hour .(between 150-400]
Things don't have to be exactly the same for a comparison to be made? Then why did you compare them?
I have no idea if she is lying or not. I only shared an antidote experience i had with a substitute teacher and retired principle who both agreed with graduating students who were unable to pass their class and they justified their position by saying it was destructive to the student to hold them back so they could learn what was expected of them to know.I totally agree with you that we should not graduate a student who can’t read or write as most teachers. That is why I think this whole thing is bogus. I don’t believe she can’t read or write.
Daily reminder for todays "Education in America SUCKS!" thread-
Broken down by demographics, we have the worlds most intelligent Europeans, Africans, Hispanics, etc.

Looks like the European White Male is certainly holding his own.
Huh?
I'm just saying....the European White Male seems to be doing pretty great, according to the graph there. Not that I'm surprised.
Actually, I agree. If the kid doesn’t meet the standards, that kid should not be promoted. It is happening too often. I remember one year my principal came in and told me to pass one of the top athletes in the school. I remember saying to her that he was failing in my class and I refused to pass him.she smiled at me and said she knew I would say thatI have no idea if she is lying or not. And the nationalaverage salary for a teacher is less than 50kThis is ridiculous thing to say, renee.
If they made the lowest you say --- $150 an hour working 40 hours a week, they'd make $6,000 a week, $24K in a month and $288,000 a year.
If they made the highest you say -- $400 an hour working 40 hours a week, they'd make $16K in a week, $64 in a month and $768,000 a year.
But the median salary for accountants in the US is only $79K.
The average salary for accountants is between $58K - $127K.
Accountant Salary | Salary.com
The average salary for an Accountant in the United States is between $58,630 and $127,460 as of April 01, 2025. Salary ranges can vary widely depending on the actual Accountant position you are looking for.www.salary.com
So where the heck are you getting $288K-$768K? LOL!
That’s why I did an analogy. That should have been obvious.Things don't have to be exactly the same for a comparison to be made?
I would think that was obvious
And the nationalaverage salary for a teacher is less than 50k
Keep fighting against teachers getting raises.(sarcasm )
True… when I had the top classes, they usually went up a few, but when I had the bottom classes if they went up one year , I was happyIf a student gets good grades in a particular class that doesn't necessarily mean the teacher is a good teacher.
Just as if a student gets poor grades in a particular class that doesn't necessarily mean the teacher is a bad teacher.
Women were in fact, prohibited from the top networking universities like Harvard, Dale and PrincetonWomen were never prohibited from college.
I saw a movie from 1933 last night, Baby Face.
Them theme of the movie was all a women had to do to get ahead was be attractive.
It is still true.
Attractive men do not hold a similar advantage.
Never have, never will.
Average teacher salaries range from $45K - $92K, depending on the state, experience, education, job title, etc.
So, no accountants don't make a teacher's salary in a week or a month. You're exaggerating things. Why?
I'm not against teachers getting raises.
Tell me again how I think low of myself because I think I'm
Didn’t you say you were a teacher?
Then that answers the question. I think teachers should make a lot more and you obviously think that you shouldn’t and that you are well paid… ever wonder why teachers are overwhelmingly female?Yes, I am.

I won’t use my accountant analogy anymore. Do you think you should make as much as a lawyer?I'm paid well. Why do you think I think low of myself because of that? I'm not poor or even close to being poor. I'm not against getting a raise or anyone else getting a raise.
How much do you think I should be paid?
We've already had this discussion, renee.
I won’t use my accountant analogy anymore. Do you think you should make as much as a lawyer?
I guess my opinion of education is that it is probably one of the most important jobs in the world.
One thing I am against is tenure. Rather than have tenure, we should hike up the pay for teachers.
How am I exaggerating?
What do you think lawyers make?
You are agreeing that education is probably one of the most important professions in the world, but yet you seem to think that you are paid proportionately.
I think you should be paid double what you are paid.
My granddaughter just graduated from college and is a nurse and is starting at $80,000.supply and demand. I have a feeling that teachers will be facing the same thing.. women can now go into high paying professions and they are making a lot more money.
It should not be a controversial opinion to expect students to know the materials before progressing to next grade.Actually, I agree. If the kid doesn’t meet the standards, that kid should not be promoted. It is happening too often. I remember one year my principal came in and told me to pass one of the top athletes in the school. No you were not.Women were in fact, prohibited from the top networking universities like Harvard, Dale and Princeton
Harvard did not accept women until the 1970s what you are confusing yourself with is that they created Radcliffe, which was an all girl school. Harvard was the networking school and women who went to Radcliffe did not have that access.you know “separate but equal “ lolNo you were not.
No point in making things up.
Women at Harvard 1879. Try again and stop making excess. Unless you are 80, Princeton also accepted you.
Good god take some personal responsibility
