When I was growing up, before television, my grandfather explained that both newspapers were biased. One was Democrat and one was Republican. One admired the USSR and one didn't. One support segregation and Jim Crow laws and one didn't. One hired only Democrats but the other hired Democrats and Republicans because there weren't enough Republicans to staff the newspaper. He said they both lie when they want to but if you read both papers you might figure out what was going on...sometimes.

I wouldn't mind the bias if we didn't have to listen to the nitwits like Chris Mathews saying, "I'm very moderate." We hear far-left journals saying they're mainstream, middle-of-the-road, or, like NPR, they air both sides.

I just wish the lying nitwits would be honest about what they're doing.

Oh you left out the nitwits on fox, but then I guess you are biased. And by the way msnbc is a left leaning and they have never pretended not to be biased.
 

I tend to agree, but is the problem really that they have a veneer of non-bias? It's not just the Liberals either. I'd point out that there's only one Network that claims to be "fair and balanced."
 

You mean like "fair and balanced" Bill O'Reilly? LOL!

You can't produce an hour of "news" on FOX that isn't polluted with the editorial stance.

Some individual SEGMENTS are relatively unbiased, but the tone of the hosts, the "guests and the opinion show commercials (with comments about the "hard" news of the day), maintain the reinforcement of the desired worldview.

Kinda like MSNBC.
 

NBC, ABC and CBS can't manage 30 minutes of unbiased news, as they demonstrate every night.

Well, he is an idiot, but his show is an opinion show.

I know everybody loves the "leg tingling" line, but the truth is that the right has their own candidates that give their pundits a "tingle." If O'Reilly said that about Romney, you'd be leading the charge to excuse him because it's an "opinion." Matthews has the right to his opinion, too.

No...I agree....my teeth hurt everytime I hear the title "No Spin Zone" for a program that is nothing BUT spin.

No, one network has that for a slogan. More than one claim to be unbiased, middle of the road, even handed, whatever, and they're all lying.

I've never claimed to be unbiased, Carleen, and as a citizen I don't need to. If you'll read my thread I said they were all lying but I realize some people don't mind lies. They go with whatever works.

Someone has to since liberals are incapable of accepting responsibility. I realize that according to President Obama, poor thing, our problems are the fault of President Bush, the American people, Republicans, Tea Party members, Congress, lazy black people, white racists, Jews, Christians, the middle class, corporations, and private business. I might have missed a few but we all know that President Obama and the liberals are not responsible for anything. I suspect in ten years we will learn the the disastrous Obamacare was passed by a cabal of conservatives.

So Matthews was just an example of all of the liars? Is that what you mean?
