HItler was a leftst...

From the article:

As a "right-winger," I have been called a "Nazi." This is totally absurd, and I have found a very interesting document (below) which shows how the Nazis can also be seen as "left-wing."
(Note: I am NOT saying that Democrats or liberals are Nazis!! They aren't!! This document is provided for conservatives to defend themselves when they are called Nazis, which often occurs. Neither side should be labeled as "Nazis.")

Good job defeating yourself.

Hitler was a leftist.

Hitler threw people in jail such as socialists and fascists, who didn't agree with him.

Woodrow Wilson threw people in jail such as socialists, dissidents and leftwing labor-unions who didn't agree with him and was admired by Mussolini.

Hey, let me pull a few statements out of my ass too:

Mao Tse Tung was a Nazi.

Hitler was a Communist.

Democrats are terrorists.

Republicans are child molesters.

Hillbillies are inbreds.

Politicians are dishonest.... Oops, never mind that one. It is true.

Obama is a foreigner.

Bush was a deserter.

Ronald McDonald eats at Burger King.

And finally.......................

People who make generalized inflammatory statements, taken out of context from articles, are trolls.... Oops, never mind that one either. That is also true.

Given how the OP runs from pretty much all of his threads, we should frankly ignore him until he stop abandoning them left and right.

If Hitler and Mussolini were right-wingers, then why did they admire FDR and Woodrow Wilson?

And why did FDR and his supporters of the ND admire them?

Mussolini and Hitler praised the New Deal and said it "followed in there line of economic policies" and Mussolini even called FDR a "social-fascist."

Mussolini even said he got some of his ideas from Woodrow Wilson, a liberal democrat.

The only exception was Winston Churchill calling Mussolini a great man and his fascist policies.

This is so retarded. Hitler was a National Socialist...however, he was also a facist dictator that opposed anyone that disagreed with him, regardless of their political stripe; most notably OTHER GERMAN SOCIALISTS.

I know people call you "nazi" for being right wing. They are dumb. We got it.

If you are trying to insinuate that Democrats are more like Hitler than Republicans, then that is absurd, just like when folks on the left do it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's folks on YOUR TEAM that are holding up signs of Obama with a Hitler 'stache?

Starting threads like this KILL your cred, son.

Mussolini was a Marxist and why should I believe that he abandoned all his Marxists beliefs and not keep some to fit his agenda which would in terms be anti-communist.

And leon Trotsky, one of the figures for the very communist USSR, had some certain form of policy that some actually said "Socialism with Fascism and Leninism somewhere in the middle", but never got his start.

How the hell did this rebut anything I said? Why did you even quote me? I don't know what point you are making. I didn't even mention Moussolini or Trotsky...are you drunk?

There is no right vs left! There is no substantive difference between those two flavors of socialism! You might as well call it masculine socialism vs feminine socialism, have 12 socialist parties divided by astrological signs!

There's just libertarian vs statist!

You don't think there are any differences between conservatism and libertarianism? You don't see any differences between statism and modern American liberalism? Really?

I didn't mean to do that.

I'm too use to pushing "Quote"

ok the OP is crazy. Seriously man I identify more with Republicans than Democrats but it is almost (apparently) common knowledge that extreme right = fascist, extreme left = socialist/communist

Hitler was NOT leftist. He would likely want to throw every liberal person in the world into a concentration camp.

a little bit of friendly advice 'bater, there are some very smart people on this board (I am not one), so if you wish to survive, try to engage your brain before your digits:)

Hitler was a leftist. He said this:

"We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions." --Adolf Hitler

Do you need more evidence?

Hitler was:
-For Gun Control
-Pro Animal Rights
-Anti-Tobacco
-Secular

Don't compare modern American social liberalism with early 20th cen. leftist poltical theory...

Oh, and most Facists in recent history were left wing, not right.

There's a book you should pick up by Jonah Goldberg called "Liberal Fascism"

Ok... what sounds more left to you:

Restricting freedoms
Concentration Camps for political dissidents
The State Runs everything

.......... wait.....

omg I see your point :doh

to be honest though I think that both extremes meet at a point opposite to center. this model is more of a political circle with Center at the top and middle, and the right and left sides go down to meet at the extreme of their beliefs.

so anyway I've been schooled

was hitler secular though? I thought he was all into the Tutonic (Norse Gods).

He was anti-Christian...close enough. Im pretty sure he worshipped himself, though.

Hitler said a lot of things, many of which were self-contradictory. In 1929, Hitler called socialism "an unfortunate word altogether," and also later expressed regret at even having included 'socialism' in his party's name.

Oh, and most Fascists in recent history were left wing, not right.

In fact the defining quality of fascism is that it includes elements from both the left and right. Mussolini, for instance, called himself a reactionary and revolutionary. Basically it utilised progressive means to achieve conservative ends that were indisputably right-wing. To suggest that Hitler was a leftist is like suggesting Dick Cheney is a leftist. Both started on the left, but ended up on the far right.

I don't follow...what characteristics made Hitler "end up" far right?

Dick Cheney "started out" as a leftist?

I don't follow...what characteristics made Hitler "end up" far right?

His strong advocacy of return to 'traditional' institutions such as the family unit, a privileging of national consciousness as opposed to class consciousness (indeed, class relations, an essential element of left wing politics, was rejected in favour of more unitary class collaboration) as well as his oppression of various left-wing elements in Germany that claimed to represent workers' rights (indeed, this was why foreign investment in Germany boomed during the Nazi years).

Dick Cheney "started out" as a leftist?

Okay. Perhaps I should've ignored Cheney and gone for his ideological belief in neoconservatism, which did arise out of militarist and statist tendencies amongst the New Left.
