Well.

The State Department has been dragging it's heels a bit on releasing Hillary Emails, but those that are "Classified" on unclassified servers now number more than a THOUSAND.

A thousand classified emails, stored on an unsecured, unclassified server that was probably penetrated by foreign agents.

And then there's this

In a thread from June 2011, Hillary exchanges e-mails with Jake Sullivan, then her deputy chief of staff and now her campaign foreign-policy adviser, in which she impatiently waits for a set of talking points. When Sullivan tells her that the source is having trouble with the secure fax, Hillary then orders Sullivan to have the data stripped of its markings and sent through a non-secure channel....

For those who will respond (correctly) that this is a conservative blog and (incorrectly) that data doesn't count, here is the exchange:

Talking points?

Re: Hillary e-mail instructs aide to transmit classified data without markings

You will have to be patient if you are expecting a liberal to respond. Maddow, Matthews and Media Matters are still behind closed doors working on an excuse..er..response.

Re: Hillary e-mail instructs aide to transmit classified data without markings

Nothing is going to happen to Hillary, people need to move on.

Talking points are classified?

Yeah, I'm still trying to square what Scooter Libby did with what Hillary has done. Scooter was a piker by comparison, but he spent some time in a Federal prison. Your side demanded it. But Hillary's obvious transgressions of a far more serious nature should be considered nothing now. You guys don't have a double standard. You just don't have any at all.

What might be saving her for now is the alternative.

Re: Hillary e-mail instructs aide to transmit classified data without markings

Looks like some people are assuming the only things sent over secured lines of communication are classified things.

Re: Hillary e-mail instructs aide to transmit classified data without markings

Talking points?

That's what I'm wondering. Talking points are points that are things specifically crafted to be distributed out to the public. I have a hard time believing that anyone would really care about this other than the "she doesn't agree with my politics so I'm outraged!"

I think Hillary has shown herself to be completely clueless regarding this email situation and it astounds me that no one called her out on it while she was in office, but this is really nothing.

Lol, Nope. You're just being silly right now.

Libby mentioned the name of one CIA agent behind a desk at Langley and driving it to retirement. Clinton exposed God only knows how much stuff, but surely volumes more than Libby, who went to prison for his transgression. Don't hand me that silly crap. You guys are unconscionable jerks.

Re: Hillary e-mail instructs aide to transmit classified data without markings

Not this **** again...

Nothing is going to happen to Hillary over this, and it is not enough politically to convince people to vote for Trump instead. The people excited about these "revelations" are those who would not vote for Hillary regardless.

If there was enough that was so damning something would have happened long ago.

So we wait... for that indictment. If it ever shows up I'll change my mind, until then don't hold your breath.

No, talking points are simply talking points. For example, when serving as an analyst over in Okinawa, I was often charged to help draft talking points for my CG for his meetings with his counterparts, both US and foreign. The material that would go in could range from Unclassified//FOUO to Top Secret//SCI. Talking Points simply refer to themes that you want to hit in a communication, be it in a classified or unclassified venue.

Assuming (and it's not unlikely at all) that TPs does indeed refer to Talking Points, they would include things like Strategic Messaging, Intentions, Capabilities, and the assessed likely talking points whomever she was meeting with (which are often the most highly classified portion of the product), all of which can be (and often are) classified.

The direction to strip out the identifying headings seems to be a direction to, well, strip out the headings. That's important because that is where the overall classification of government documents are located.

The aids' use of secure communications even when those secure comms were not functioning does indeed mean that this was information stored and transmitted over classified and secured networks. Will she try to cover this with the claim that it, too, had no Original Classification Authority declaration prior to transmission? We'll see.

I think Hillary has shown herself to be completely clueless regarding this email situation and it astounds me that no one called her out on it while she was in office, but this is really nothing.

The laws she broke were the same ones that we have put Bradley Manning into prison for a long time for, and would like to talk to Mr Snowden about, should he ever decide to re-visit our shores.

Yes, it's a serious issue.

Nothing will because Republocrats don't actually want to start on jshing wrongdoing, they just need talking points. It's not to say she did nothing wrong, clearly she has. It's just that she's a standard Republocrat and they're essentially a protected class.

First off, That's not all that Libby did.

Secondly, Libby was found guilty because there was proof that he did was calculated with malice and forethought, and that he specifically gave away classified information with the intent of it being leaked to the public for political purposes. If it's shown that Hillary leaked info specifically with the intent to undermine the united states or for political purposes like that, then you'd have apples to apples. So far we've just been presented gross negligence.

You can't just make stuff up.

Not really, though his comparison is not as apt as he thinks it is.

No - Libby wasn't imprisoned for spilling classified information, but for perjury. The actual leak came from Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage.

Hillary's violations are far more serious than Libby's were.

So far we've just been presented gross negligence

18 USC 793

(f) Whoever, being entrusted with or having lawful possession or control of any document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blueprint, plan, map, model, instrument, appliance, note, or information, relating to the national defense, (1) through gross negligence permits the same to be removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of his trust, or to be lost, stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, or (2) having knowledge that the same has been illegally removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of its trust, or lost, or stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, and fails to make prompt report of such loss, theft, abstraction, or destruction to his superior officer—

Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.

Sorry. Covering up political assassinations via leaking classified info with the intent of it going public is worse than gross negligence. It's just reality CP. They both might be technically illegal, but one is much worse in reality.

And it aggravates the hell out of me that only one in ten Americans see that.

Oh for God's sake - the information used in the talking points, if it is classified.

Why the hell isn't she in prison? Ahh well, crooks like her and Sandy Berger get a pass I suppose.
