High schoolers’ reading and math scores dropped to the lowest level in decades, along with declines in science scores from eighth graders, according to the National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP), the gold standard exam for comparing student achievement over the years.

The results on what is commonly known as the Nation’s Report Card are the first for these groups since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

I went to first grade on Air Force Base schools right after Sputnik went up.
Everything was taught like Math, and I loved the explorers first.
We didn’t get the English and History thru 8th grade, and it hurt us in civilian schools.

I still crave every kind of history, and taught the history of Chemistry and Physics alongside the concepts.

For English, they should use tougher reading passages from law and civics to prepare.
For math, they must take at least Chemistry to see how Math works.
College football coaches at the Armed Forces Academies demand Chem-is-try, the Central Science.

The US isn't one national education system, it's 50 states and 3,144 counties. Massachusetts a decade or so paid to have their state test separately in the international testing and placed among the top 10 in the world, 9th in math, 4th in reading, and 6th in science. At the time US scores were dropping globally.


The Dept of Education was supposed to help bring up the states and counties that represented the most challenging to educate, we'll see how well they did now that it's been gutted.

Overall, I get the impression that at least one political party likes the citizens in this country to be as dumb as possible.
