A new Zogby poll puts Herman Cain at the top of the Republican field, as the top choice of 28% of poll respondents. (IBOPE Zogby International says the polling sample consists of “all likely voters and of likely Republican primary voters.”)
Several sites are reporting this

I defer to Nate Silver via twitter: "No, Zogby internet polls are not scientific and are wildly inaccurate. Should be ignored."
Ill take that on your word, because i dont know...I posted it because its all over the place being reported...
Nate Silver is just probably one of the best pollster and, generally, is more often then not right about outcomes in elections.
pizza for all!
I would not read too much into this yet. Wait and watch how polling falls out over the next couple weeks, from other pollsters with other methods as well.

Our local Godfather's just closed.
After I read anagrams post i went and researched him...hes a master statitician and makes extremely accurate predictions...
Strike a blow for the small independent and fine some really great pizza made by a local owner. Screw the big chains and their 'pizza' which tastes more like the cardboard box it comes in.
I agree...I didnt post this to insinuate it was gospel...I posted it because it was being slammed all over the net and being reported by alot of sites..
Personally in the end I dont believe cain wins the GOP primary
Oh, I understand that, and it is news, and it is interesting. I am anxiously awaiting the next couple polls, to see if they show a similar spike, and wonder why he of all the candidates spiked.
Yanno ive been wondering the same thing...why cain ? I dont see anything spectacular in him or his performances and I dont see where he exudes or instills confidence that hes a great leader...ok he ran a pizza company...cool...like thorgasm said the pizza sucked...
Im not in the same court as alot of people are lately...I dont think running a business is the perfect gauge that your going to be a great president...or even a good one....Theres been many successful and some great presidents that never ran a business...Id like to know just how many great or good presidents ran business's

Let's count our chickens...wait, they haven't hatched yet!
I've caught him several times on the radio over the past few years and have always found him warm, genuine, and sensible. And I laugh every time I hear that audio clip when he says he thinks folks are "over this first African-American President thing" and hope it's true because some people never cared. They didn't vote for Obama because they didn't agree with his views, but if they like Cain's views, they will vote for him. It's fashionable in some progressive circles to play the race-card, but I don't think people much care about it.
My brother in law and sister know him socially somewhat. Both think he is an awesome, brilliant guy who has not chance to be president, nor should he be president. Both my sister and brother in law are very conservative, so the issue is not that he is conservative, but that they don't think he has the qualifications.
Just going to play this card now. But if some one with the qualifications of Obama can do it, then anyone can.

That's really interesting to learn. What are their specific concerns? His lack of foreign policy knowledge?
