A letter signed by more than 500 Jewish professors from a range of political views was sent to the UC Board of Regents criticizing the Trump Administration’s “misguided and punitive” demand for a $1-billion fine to settle claims over alleged antisemitism at UCLA. This speaks a basic truth. Netanyahu and Smotrich are believed when they say they are jingoists, although they are undermining Israel for their own personal benefit.
