Help: Knee Pain

Thanks for all the replies.

Meniscus tear is the same conclusion I came too. I guess it's just going to be slow healing, unless it gets worse then I'll consider an arthroscopic surgery. I just don't have any floor level accommodations and can't afford a hotel for 2 months of rehab. I think I may actually have a tear and patellar tendonitis from the symptomatology. I have a doctors appt in a couple months and will get a referral to a specialist if it's still really bad.

The hell of it is I didn't hardly feel anything and besides the night time, frozen pain when it's bent it doesn't hurt that much. Old crummy body sucks.

I tore my meniscus a couple of years ago. Haven't had surgery yet, but I'm sure it's coming, according to the orthopedic surgeon I saw. I had almost the same symptoms you have, but my pain was at it's worst going up stairs (and I have two flights in my house) . I didn't experience the pain at night.. Rest, rest, rest is all I can say. It's hard not to over do it once it starts feeling a bit better.

I've been putting off a rotator cuff surgery for years now, also. Lol. I hate doctors... my shoulder pops and grinds if I lift my arm over my head or roll my arm from front to back. I blame an auto accident that nearly offed me years ago , but I suspect I didn't do my knee, shoulder or my back any favors by doing stupid **** when I was younger. :P

I hope you get some relief soon. It sucks when sleep is interrupted because of pain. Kind of hinders the healing process. Glad to hear you're seeing a doc.

And I agree....getting old sucks. :(

You sound as bad as me. I have a herniated disk in my back that surgery made worse. But the knee thing really shocked me. Don't know what I did except go up some steps about 20 times for two days? I can feel the knee under my hand when I bend it make this gruesome crunching and clicking. I think it's finally mending but like you say I need to resist the urge to not baby it. I wear a brace sleeping which helps.

Thanks for the thoughts. :)

With the one knee replaced and the plates in the other leg, I'm determined that when (not if) the right knee has finally had it, I'm going for bionics!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1363499728.753366.webp

^^

Ouch! That looks painful.

Looks like he broke his ankle.

That sucks!

I feel ashamed for complaining. Hang in there Vance.

Thanks. Tibia in 2 places, 2 ligaments torn...but it's doing much better! Plate and screws. Really...as long as I didn't bang it, there wasnt all that much pain after the 1st day.

You had a good surgeon.

I really did. They have been pretty stern with me about staying off of it and I'm really trying to be a good patient. They spent almost twice as long as it should have taken but so far it looks really good.

I broke my femur once and the tibula and the heel and the right ankle oh and my wrist and my metacarpals and my pinky knuckle all at the same time! I wasn't allowed to walk for three months because the femur required a bone graft.

That's horrible. I've heard the femur is the pinnacle of pain for bone breaks. Glad you are doing better. Any residual pain?

I'm hearing a lot of rest the knee and don't over work it. Though I know eventually a little rehab will be in order, slowly though.

Everyone keeps saying see a doctor. I ask my back surgeon after the bad results why surgery was pushed. And he said to a hammer everything looks like a nail. It's what we do besides medications and therapy. Sometimes a conservative approach is better, until it's more obvious you need intervention.

I fell and went 12 days ignoring my wife's urging to see a doctor.

I finally did and the x-rays showed I fractured the tip of the Radius and am now in a cast. [HATE IT!!!]
