True. At least big ship was named after a very effective WW2 admiral.
Being a crusader for gay rights is not a reason for military honors. Honor him in some other way.

Naming military after individuals is reserved for significant military deeds or be becoming commander in chief, not for civilian notoriety.

I am not suggesting that the latter three should not be honored in some way, just not by having military assets named after them.

You can honor someone in any way for any reason. Show me the law saying that you can't name a navy ship after a gay politician. It doesn't exist.

MagaMericans are always wrong. I've never seen anything like it. After all I wasn't in Germany during the 1930s -- but I did hear about it I did.
