I think we need to hold our elected officials to higher standards. Pelosi's move here was childish grandstanding. And while Trump has made an administration on nothing but, falling to the same level does not behoove the Republic. Our politicians represent the Republic, they represent the People. They need to behave like it.

Why didn't the GOP Impeach Obama? Are you saying they're cowards who refused to uphold their Constitutional responsibilities?

The GOP before Trump were absolute cuck liars.....mostly worthless....over a lot of years....that needs to be remembered.

Then the people eventually figured out the scam, and signed up with Trump.

Almost every Senator voted, not because of convictions, but because they feared being primaried and bullied by Trump.


Get rid of the primary, and maybe more of them would have found a spine.

How about one 6 year term for Senators? Isn't that the way it used to be before they were elected?

He turned the event into a reality show, so she turned his speech into a prop for her mime. Should he win reelection, and she remain speaker, he's probably going to find an alternative venue besides the House that will hold enough dignitaries. Now that presupposes he will invite Dems to come, and Dems decide to come. This entire tradition may have died yesterday but actually it does not extend all that far back. Per Article 2 section 3, the President "give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient." Excepting Washington and Adams, The State of the Union was always sent to Congress as a report prior to 1913, but Presidents did not actually show up to give it.

I think we should go back to a submitting a written report, and cut out the pomp.

Last time I checked, Trump had an entire DOJ he could have used to investigate and charge anyone who had committed a crime in the last administration. He chose, instead to run illegal back alley schemes with his time.

Maybe someone should have told him he had the power to do that.

You behave that way because you want to behave that way. You just use Trump as an excuse to behave the way you want to. At no point have the Democrats, and especially the vocal anti-Trump crowd here at DP, ever been "Ms or Mr nice guy" in all of this. You've all behaved as abominably as Trump from the start. You just say it's OK, 'coz TRUMP.

Better people act better, because they're better. If you don't, you're not.

Difference being that I strongly suspect that, unlike Trump, his detractors here aren't proven thieves, fraudsters or serial liars, pretending they care about their fellow citizens. Trump cares about two things only; money and having his grotesque ego massaged (usually by a hooker).

it exposed her for everything that she is. the problem is that no one is viewing this in a positive light.
She completely blew her decorum argument out of the water in 1 single move of stupid.
This is pelosi so smarts is not on her strong list of things.

Complaining about someone who you constantly say acts like a child but then act worse doesn't
make for a sound argument.
