Funny.....I don't remember hearing that jingle.....possibly my memory is clouded by too much wine? What's the word?
Thunderbird!
What's the price?
Fifty twice!
interesting! As underaged kids we’d drive to a restaurant that had curb service. One old guy, Woody, who worked there as a curb hop would take care of us.
He’d walk out to the car and say “What do you want?”
Usually Thunderbird was on special for 2 dollars a pint.
We’d say “What’s the word?”
Woody, “Thunderbird.”
“What the price?”
Woody, “A dollar twice.”
We’d tip 2 dollars. That was 4 bucks for rot gut wine and a headache in the morning.
Careful who you tell that story to...that's considered rape these days. While I was underage many, many years ago, my friends and I would cross the border at Mexicali to buy a couple liters of Alcohol, two bucks each and 98 proof, and mix it with Hawaiian Punch concentrate then throw a party when we got home. The unfortunate women, girls mainly, who accepted our invitations couldn't even taste the alcohol and would regularly get outrageously drunk.
In fact, I owe the first few times I lost my virginity to those wonderful debauches.
MAGA.

i have just read about it, did not know it yet.
The few home-made wines I sampled were excellent. My dad made wine, so I drank home brew if I wanted wine. Nobody would elver miss a bottle or so from the wine racks.
I've drank wine in a Thunderbird.
My dad and uncle made beer, wine and a couple of times, even champagne. For us kids, we got sarsaparilla, ginger ale and even hard cider occasionally. The few home-made wines I sampled were excellent.
My dad made beer a time or two, however he was more concerned with the alcohol content then the taste. It was not filtered well, and it tasted awful. My dad and uncle made beer, wine and a couple of times, even champagne. For us kids, we got sarsaparilla, ginger ale and even hard cider occasionally.
Yeah, I lived in inner cities.i have just read about it, did not know it yet.
