We have a new normal in this country. Anything is fair in politics. Lying, falsifying documents, using media propaganda, twisting facts, false, baseless, never ending investigations. Impeachment based on false information.
The people that perpetrated these deeds hated Trump. He was a DISRUPTER. They wanted to continue coasting along in their little bubbles of incompetence with no stress. They couldn't have a CEO that demanded performance. In a GOVERNMENT job? No way......
So they pulled out all the stops...anything was fair game.....and they succeeded in getting rid of the disrupter. The reward? Now, they have a nice, game playing dupe. All is well.
But did you think there would be no blowback from all that?
And not just from the GOP or the Trumpists.
It's the lack of ethical behavior that's been "normalized" by the above insanity.
The country has been changed forever. And not for the better.
Don't believe it?
Watch it happen. It's happening even as we speak.

In order to be a heart surgeon, you have to go to college and medical school, and do at least 6 years of internship/residency. And access to each of those steps is increasingly highly competitive, based on merit.

What are the prerequisites for being a "politician?"

Politicians should have exceptional backgrounds, extensive knowledge of government and work their way up the chain as elected representatives. For instance, city council to Secretary of State or something of the sort. Those with backgrounds in leadership and community service or work in politics or the military often get away with lacking that experience and going straight to congress. The key is having an extensive resume in matters that concern serving the public.

which is why republicans were horrified when trump took over the party. He has no experience, tact, intellect or dignity. He’s a trust fund baby who became a white collar criminal and then a reality television star. He’s whatever he needs to be to have the spotlight. One of the cast members of jersey shore is equally qualified to be president, but lack the millions of dollars needed to cover up their lengthy history of tax evasion and payoffs to prostitutes. It helps to buy huge buildings with daddy’s money and put your name on it too. If that’s what you want your politicians to be, you can vote for them, just as you can spend 30 years accusing every democrat who becomes President of secretly murdering people, lying about your citizenship or running a global cabal of child sex rings. I think most of us know the difference between a fantasy rooted in irrational hatred and reality, but then again I would wager that most people thought “the apprentice” wasn’t staged.
 
My point exactly! Any idiot can apparently be a politician and run the free world if they just have money and enough other idiots to think they can do it! If Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson decided to run, and took the campaign seriously, I am not so sure he would lose.

Our decision in 2016 was between a leathery orange man who thinks it is ok to grab people by the ***** and lied to the American public about how bad Covid was going to get, and another guy who has continuously been on the wrong side of foreign affairs decisions damm near his whole political life. This is the best of the best? Say what you want about George W Bush, but I truly feel he did the best he could in a situation that had never before happened in this country. Say what you want about Bill Clinton, but when was the last time we had a budget surplus? Now we have people running this country these past few years who can't pronounce "Yosemite", and are so close to dying in office that me and my friends actually have a death poll running on him. It's no wonder younger people want to get away from democracy. Their first images as an adult are watching 3000 people die on live television, and watching unqualified morons get voted into office!
 

I like how the OP pretends that Trump was some bastion of Constitutionalism, or ethics, or rational behavior, or even sanity.
 
Two bad impeachments are a terrible standard. It is okay to use brutal, immoral tactics if it is to get rid of MY enemy...

While Nancy was kneeling in the Capitol building to the mobs, President Trump refused to kowtow to the marchers or the opportunists that were looting stores as a bonus.

Because of the pandemic that gave the Dems a perfect excuse to suddenly introduce mail-in-ballots, we had the most dubious election in our country's history.

The Dems think that they are very clever. They are gloating: "We have the White House and the Congress. We are preparing to pack the Supreme Court. We are going to revise the Constitution. And we just defeated the recall of our Pretty Boy in California. What could possibly go wrong?"
 

Poor Trump. He was just a stable genius who couldn't have his way and save the country.
 
There were similar Chicken Little predictions of America's demise when Obama was elected.

But there she is, 12 years later, doing just fine.

I'm not sure there's any point parsing the idiocy from the dishonesty in that post.

That other people said black lives as matter as much as anyone else's does not somehow justify Trump Traitors storming the Capitol building seeking to murder a bunch of congress and steal an election.
 
Trump the "disrupter demanding performance?" You have to be kidding, right? Trump has PROVEN over his lifetime that performance is the LAST thing that he offers or expects.
