Has California found the solution to trans athletes?

California recently changed rules regarding how trans and cis women are placed, essentially having two categories of placement.

Badically, cisgender girls, if beaten by a transgender girl, will place how they would have done if the trans girl wasn't competing.

So if the results are:
1st: trans
2nd: cis
3rd: cis

They will be classified:

Joint 1st: trans & cis who originally finished 2nd
2nd: cis who originally finished 3rd
3rd: cis who originally finished 4th

Under this system, no cis girl will lose a place or qualification to a trans girl while still allowing trans girls to compete.

This seems a workable solution for individual events, though not sure how it could be applied to team events, and of course safety in high impact sports still needs to be prioritised.

Seems like it works well for individual events/sports. Not sure how you do that in team sports or things like relay

There are not enough trans people for their own sports leagues. That is an absurd idea. This was not even a problem w until the GOP manufactured one as a way to pander to ignorant bigots on the right. Did you happen to remember that transgender people have equal right to compete, despite their very small demographics? You want to do everything possible to erase them, but that idea is not legally permissible.

The SCOTUS has previously ruled that separate but equal is not constitutionally permissible.

You do realize that equal rights means they don’t get to compete in female sports any more then any other male right.
What you really want is special treatment.

I did not lie when I pointed out that professional and amateur sports are different, and in amateur sports, transgenders have participating for years without a problem.

This is a good solution for individual sports in schools. Essentially there is a transgender league; but lacking for players, so results in that league are reported as an index relative to the cisgender players.

Nonetheless, there are sports where this solution may be seen as insufficient: boxing, basketball. If players directly interact then there are not two leagues with independent scoring. This is particularly relevant once money gets involved.

Additionally, private sports matches may not want to invest in a parallel transgender infrastructure. Whatever one thinks of it, they are not currently required to be full service for everybody: the NBA doesn't pay the WNBA to keep the salaries the same.

The more power is allowed to the officials holding the matches and operating the leagues, the more sports can attempt to react to this situation in ways that are appropriate to their own peculiarities. There are many solutions we aren't considering (most of which are probably impossible or silly, but who knows?).

They get the awards, medals, places as well.

So if a transwoman finishes 1st, and a cis woman 2nd, they both place 1st and both get the gold medal.

As someone generally opposed to male puberty transwomen competing in female sport, this is a solution that I'm okay with. It allows those transwomen to compete competitively without cis women losing out.

So if they would be able to get awards and the accolades anyways, what's the point in the competition?
