Happy No Kings Day everyone!

One of the signs I saw at the protest today said, "Are We Great Yet?". I later saw that someone shown on television also had that sign. It is not extremely witty, but I had never seen it before and it made me think. I mean, President Trump has been promising greatness to us for a while now and I surely don't feel it.
To my mind, we have never, in my lifetime, not been great.

Gonna disagree on that.

It's like saying that Oliver Cromwell wasn't great because he had warts.
Either you misunderstood my post, or I am not following yours. Either way, it is probably my fault, but there is some confusion here on at least my part.

I've spent the last two decades divided between observatories and bleeding edge engineering.

I may be a little biased.

This obsession with calling the USA great or not is actually a problem with the USA. It is more important to focus on trying to live up to the ideals of our founding without the hypocrisy of our founders. They were just men who wanted something for themselves, not heroes changing the world. But they at least started a bold new idea of self governance which maybe was always a bit doomed to fail and self serving to the top class of society. This idea that power comes from the people is the important one, whether or not they really meant it. And that is what helped change the thinking in the world about power and how it is derived. This requires constant hard work and self reflection, not patting ourselves on the back about our greatness or extreme self hatred about our many failures. That is why we want no kings. We are our own kings of our own lives.

Ultra extreme TDS. Since kicking out the crown, we have had no kings and never will.
Perhaps remind Dear Leader and his social media accounts of that:

Oh wait…millions of Americans took the chance yesterday to voice their disapproval.

And barely any went to his expensive birthday parade.

Womp womp.

Then the real question is, why are you so distressed by a meme?
I am not. I am simply pointing out that with your username, you complaining about others using a meme is stupid. I would strongly suggest you try reading for comprehension at some point.

So, you are offended by memes and usernames. Got it.
