Gulf Oil Rig Explodes off La. Coast

From the OP article, it appears there was a small to medium sized explosion on the rig.

The resulting fire appears to have been put out (or nearly so) by now, and from the aerial shots of the rig on pages 2 and 3 of the story linked in the OP, it probably just needs a some repairs.

And some type of waste(?) oil/whatever was accidently started on fire? According to what Gov. Jindal says the company that owns the rig said.

The only problem with that, is this was a production platform; not a drilling rig. Let's not go off, half cocked.

All of these recent oil rig issues seem a bit suspicious to me. I smell sabotage.
