I bought a thousand rolls and plan to sell it in a month for $10 a roll. j/k :2razz:
Everything's fine here - toilet paper, butter, booze - all the essentials.
May his Noodly Goodness smile upon thee.
The poor and impoverished will get hit the hardest with no backup resources and food banks overwhelmed.
"I'm not stopping until the dining room is completely full! TP forever!"
Seriously, people, stop. Some of us were due to buy TP this month. We got nothing to lose.
I just heard that TP manufacturers are ramping up production to the tits. TG
.
A lady who works in Sam's meat department told me today they are having trouble getting full orders of raw chicken.
Up North the Govt was rolling out 25 B for that- that and a few other things changed when the Cons- NDP arrived to vote- raised to 51 Bil of so
More is being rolled out as circumstances arise that were not thought of.
Small buss loans - does it apply to Seniors who are receiving an increased GST rebate?
People/Bus not included.
Chicken, especially breasts and thighs were low in stock today.
It'll probably take a month or so for gov aid to be a reality.
Where'd you hear that? Everything I've read had said they already operate 24/7 and literally can't ramp up more, and won't anyway because they know demand will fall in a few months.

Canada those with direct deposit will have benefits 3-5 days after applying
Those not, expect a week to 10 days for the check to arrive
Shortages at Sams can have downstream effects because so many businesses buy from them as it is cheaper than buying wholesale themselves. I have seen the guy who owns the local "premium meat" deli buying cartsloads from them during business member hours in the morning
I read it from a couple of diff sources wondering why the lack of.
Toilet paper makers: 'What we are dealing with here is uncharted' - CNN
The company managed to ship out 20% more than its normal capacity. And the American Forest & Paper Association, an industry group representing paper product makers, noted the industry is working hard to respond to the sudden spike in demand.
Another way suppliers are responding to the toilet paper craze: Some are cutting out distribution centers, sending trucks directly to and from paper factories to get product onto shelves more quickly.
When will toilet paper be back in stores? Suppliers aren’t sure. - Vox
Toilet paper suppliers like Kimberly-Clark and Georgia-Pacific have significantly ramped up the speed at which business is done. A Kimberly-Clark representative said the supplier has "plans in place to address the increased demand for our products to the extent possible, including accelerating production and reallocating inventory to help meet these needs."
Cool. Those were the same sources I had read. No more production, a little faster shipping. Thanks.

Canada obviously has a far more efficient form of bureaucracy than the red tape of USA.
And small businesses buy paper products and office supplies from them and Walmart because they're cheaper than wholesale suppliers. The whole supply chain for everyday goods is going to be out of whack for months. Mostly from panic and hoarding, and some from sick workers.
i was able to get most of the stuff we need for a while yesterday. like others have said, there were no paper towels and no TP of any kind. also, much of the baking stuff was gone. i do find it interesting that the TP manufacturers aren't really cashing in here, but whatever. i was able to get the stuff i need for my kid, cans of food for my dog, and dinners for us. almost no one was wearing PPE. i'm not even sure that you can still get it around here. that's a shame. i wore a mask and gloves. i hope that it helped.
Govt is not dotting the I's and crossing the T's.
Mistakes will be made, that can be a addressed later.
Average Joe/Joanne will have qualified under 1 program or another
Canada has a strong social safety net, so outside of a few problems, money will be there quickly
Myself, always been a long time supporter of our strong safety net
Experienced the need as a kid
Now we are both fairly comfortable, paid higher taxes for years and have no issues with the programs enacted nor the ones we have
Sure. I recall seeing Great Value in a convenience store when I was younger and made a comment to the owner I thought that was Walmart's exclusive brand. He said he bought most of the stuff on the non-refrigerated shelves from Walmart because he could get it significantly cheaper than he could having it delivered to him because his volume was so low and that stuff sells slow. That was before we had a Sam's.
I personally think the economic consequences will last years just because of the emotional trauma for lack of a better phrase. It will be like those old people who hid money in their walls and hoarded food all their lives after the depression.
My sister is French Canadian and lives in Quebec and says the gov is much better about healthcare, pensions, and benefits.
Haven't been to a supermarket since March 12th. Today I made my first delivery order from Kroger, supposed to arrive on Friday....no contact delivery.

Accelerated production, usually, means more production or did you miss that part?
I wish to God we lived in Canadia....
