Have you all found a good delivery service? I was looking at instacart but then read a ton of horrible reviews. Are you ordering online at supermarkets and then picking up? I did this at sprouts once but had some tweaker looking lady bring me my stuff to the car. She blew my phone up texting me each time something wasn't in stock which was a lot. It was a creepy experience.
I live in the Phoenix area.
I'm wondering if going to a 24 hour Walgreens in the middle of the night is the way to do it to avoid crowds. Obviously they don't have everything.
whats all this 'pancake mix' talk about?
1 cup all-purpose flour, (spooned and leveled)
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, or vegetable oil
1 large egg
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
If you are using powdered milk you can just add more water. You can also add in extracts. If you are really industrious you can pop open one of your cans of wheat that has been in your food storage forever and grind your own flour. Fresh ground wheat...even older wheat...makes for sweeter bread and cakes.
i was able to get most of the stuff we need for a while yesterday. like others have said, there were no paper towels and no TP of any kind. also, much of the baking stuff was gone. i do find it interesting that the TP manufacturers aren't really cashing in here, but whatever. i was able to get the stuff i need for my kid, cans of food for my dog, and dinners for us. almost no one was wearing PPE. i'm not even sure that you can still get it around here. that's a shame. i wore a mask and gloves. i hope that it helped.
No shortage of anything but TP in my AO.
I have a bidet plus 60 rolls, don’t care.
Wife always kept a good stockpile of TP, I don’t know why. Must be a girl thing.
I have used leafs when hunting.
I got annoyed because all of a sudden everyone became star bakers. I love to bake, have for some time, but when this thing hit the stores all of a sudden all the baking supplies are gone. I finally got more baking powder this past weekend, but dang, the one plus I thought of was that being home I'll be able to bake/cook a bit more. Lay off the King Arthur's flour, some other folk need that!
Its probably a good time for people to consider setting aside a few bucks a pay period to build in some food storage once things go back to normal.Ikari says his grocery was out of baking stuff, like baking powder, flour, etc. Our grocery was out of flour.
I think all these store purchases are temporarily propping up the market, along with gov relief. But once this quarter ends and the tallying added up, unemployment numbers, missed rent/mortgages/utilities, credit cards, etc, the bottom will fall out.
I can't find any PPE worth buying but wore a cut-up, cotton t-shirt mask. Felt like a Ninja. Any barriers to diseases help, especially hand washing. I'm hoping to stay clear until a vaccine comes out.

Grocery delivery and curbside pickup is getting way backed up in my area. Anyone else doing this?
I work at a grocery store so...I'm in no danger of running out of food.

Lat Friday. Plenty of everything except TP, thanks to maniacs. Done with Easter shopping and no need to shop for two months or more. In a month or two, I should buy TP. It occurs to me that all the normal people who did not partake in the mania, and have since missed their regularly scheduled TP buy, will be a second wave when TP finally stays on the shelves. The maniacs have set off a TP cascade event in which some people's supplies are dwindling and a now somewhat legitimate concern arises.
The second TP wave will be real. We're not talking stockpiling. We're talking need it and willing to fight for it.
My area is still out of toilet paper and paper products. I was able to buy one small roll of store brand paper towels about a week ago. There were three left and I took one. I am actually weaning myself off of using paper towels. Save money.
No cleaning supplies but I was able to buy one container of dish soap. There were three left.
I am praying to the god of toilet paper that when I need some in about two weeks I will be able to score my usual large pack from Wal Mart. Other than that, I was given a bunch of canned goods from a neighbor, mostly black beans and salmon. Made salmon patties last night and some black beans. Pretty good. I spiced them up and they were pretty tasty.
I also received several cans of spaghetti sauce and several packs of spaghetti pasta from a food bank. I was able to go because of the old gentleman shut-in that I care for. I can go once a month to get supplies from that food bank. I got some shredded chicken from there plus some frozen fish. They also gave us a big cheese cake that was delicious. Lots of other food items as well.
If you need help, try going to a food bank. Some of them are real good.
I'll probably do scarves once the masks run out. Probably more effective anyway.
There is a photo on Drudge's homepage of a miles-long line of vehicles hoping to reach a Florida food ban. And there is this: Grocery workers are beginning to die of coronavirus
I work at a grocery store so...I'm in no danger of running out of food.
Preppers appear very much less kooky right now.
I bought a thousand rolls and plan to sell it in a month for $10 a roll. j/k :2razz:
Cascading is exactly what's causing the panic.
Walmart runs out quick on TP. Grocery stores have more.
I just heard that TP manufacturers are ramping up production to the tits. TG
If you can see light when you hold up the scarf, then try hairspray to block the front. You'll still get enough air from the sides.
Florida food ban? Oh, food bank, I just saw the photo, good lord.

Lack of a social safety net will rise in importance come election time as this disease hits everyone but many wealthy will hardly notice the impacts
When I see a lone package of spaghetti I'm like OHMYGODSPAGHETTI.
