In fact, most of the rules set up by cities, towns and villages are done in a nonpartisan basis. They are there usually to keep housing prices higher.

I don't see how this is leftist. This actually sounds more like conservative (not necessarily politically conservative) "neighborhood preservation" suburbia type crap from decades ago or some stuck up HOA. Not sure labeling this left vs. right ultimately makes much sense though.
