GOP shits on vets yet again

This is the gop 'helping' to govern. Like it? I was wondering who would be the next group the gop would alienate. Now I know. I remember when the gop used to respect veterans...or at least say they did.

Vets and now American semiconductor manufacturing capacity (i.e., national security) are just convenient targets for the GOP to act out its temper tantrum and lash out at Dems. American Last, always, with them.

Yep, in 2017 they killed a bill to help homeless vets, and children.

They only like the military when they're healthy and kill for them. Not so much when they need us. Then they're angry because the price for war is just too darn high for them. Let's get it down to zero.

What a bunch of losers. Who votes these loser in?

And remember. They DON'T like people who were captured.

As a vet, I already have taxpayer funded healh insurance. I don't pay premiums.

Disable vets do have disability payments of at least $1000.00 per month availble to them if it's service connected and even if not in some cases.
Shouldn't the taxpayers funding your taxpayer funded health insurance be granted the same?

Disability Pension is generally decided based on disability rating.

Taxpayer funded single payer insurance for all would be the best thing that could happen to vets, disabled vets and their families. No waiting ever and would reduce the cost of Veterans Administration budget in general and VA medical care.

I'm saying all disabled vets at the enlisted level should have a monthly increase of at least $1000 per month.

There are two bills before Congress named "Honoring our PACT Act of 2022"
One is Senate Bill S3373, the other is House Resolution HR 3967.
At the Library of Congress (formally Thomas.gov) website the "actions taken" data field for S3373 shows it failed cloture by a vote of 55:42. Cloture requires 60 votes to pass.

So basically you have a clear majority of the Senate support and would pass this bill if a straight up vote were held, but due to cloture rules. Three Senators voted "Not Voting"....Leahy, Manchin, Murkowski.

I'm betting the three amigos would vote in favor of the bill if it were to hit the floor.

Does anyone see a problem with this?

You basically have a "motion to end debate" that requires more votes to pass than the actual legislation being debated would require to pass.

I knew a guy who was heavily exposed to Agent Purple in Vietnam, it killed him, slowly. He was a brilliant astronomer and had written a few books.

I've been to Vietnam, on the drive to Khe Sanh the guide pointed out areas in the mountains that are still bare from Agent Orange and all the napalm.

Oh, you bolded "rats" in the word "democrats", wow, that is soooo edgy.
You don't see that much in the Chicago Manual of Style but you do see it now and then in the Republic*nts Crib Sheet of Political Discourse.

If somehow our vets could convince Republicans that they are actually fetuses, then they might care about them.

I have not defended anything yet as I have not read the bill. I am just refusing to get angry over nothing but a twitter post. Knowing democrat congress tactics, I would probably vote against the bill. As of yet, however I have not read it. It's aq common democrat tactic to load a bill with poison pills they know republicans can't vote for and then say..."Ooh..the GOP is anti-vet!~"
Then find those poison pills before posting?

My BIL passed away due to Agent Orange exposure. It really hurt my sister and her kids, and they had a hell of a time getting help.
Vets get shitty care, my whole family served, so I know.

This is partly why the recruitment is down, it's not worth it. That and our terrible education system. Recruitment is also down because people can't pass the reading test. America really fails it's citizens, and by America, in particular the Republicans. To much focus on religion.

If the right continues this path, they will have a hard time bringing in enough votes to win much in the future. The curtain has fallen.

It’s good to see Jon Stewart out again, I think we especially need him now.
I’d personally love to see Stewart/Colbert 2024.
FFS, Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Green got elected.

Would you like some cheese with your whine?
The right looks silly bringing up whining, when it's all they do now.

Maybe get a different catch phrase, one that's not so hypocritical?

Try this, "stop being a *****, God will help Mericans" Something like that. Something with god and maybe guns. A real go getter!

#GoBannon!

That would be a fun Onion article to read 🤣

This is a slap in the face to the vets. How dare they? Stewart and other vets have worked so hard on this:cry:

So done with the GQP
