wtf is WRONG with these politicians? Later down in the article someone notes that the dude NEVER could have gotten the hot blonde chick 20 yrs younger than him before he got his current state legislator job. I'm sick of hearing about power prostitution stories!

I'm beginning to think every elected official needs to have a shadow following them around and taping them 24/7.

Dude is SOOOOO unattractive too ....

I get a kick out of politicians who preach one thing and do another. I think one of the best laughs was when Gary Hart dared people to dig up dirt on him only to get caught with a model who wasn't his wife.

Not the least reason is because of the hack rally squads who come whining out when yet another one of the bullpuckiers on 'their team' gets caught wetting his whistle, and they try to shout it down with stories of democratic misdeeds from decades ago (who cares the other guy did it too!! *snort*), or the just as stupid (at least our side TRIES to be good, the other side is immoral!).

He was described as a pro-family guy in one of the stories I saw about him, and a conservative in another story. Queerty describes him as anti-gay. He voted no on same sex marriage, expanding anti-discrimination laws, and name equality for women. A conservative advocacy group gave him a 100% rating on votes it considers pro-family, according to the AP. His official bio seems to imply he's more of a business republican than a religion republican, tho:

As opposed to using your wife’s cancer for sympathy points in the primaries as you are bedding a campaign worker? Then lying about it after you are caught? Getting someone else to say the kid is theirs?

A politician by definition is a hypocrite. He is a representative for his constituients, not his own views. Go ahead and fool yourself into believing that elected officials are both publicly and privately in 100% agreement with their party, voters, and claims if you must. The rest of us will live in the real world.

I never claimed any elected officials were 100% in agreement with their party, voters, and claims.

Further, not being in agreement with your constituents is not the definition of hypocrisy.

It's time for me to break out my tried and true argument in cases like this: I don't think the personal lives of politicians is any of our business. I think that the more they have to live under a microscope, the less likely we are going to get good people to run for public office. If that is "displaying my hypocrisy", so be it.

In this instance the woman,
Heidi DeJong Barsuglia, is a lobbyist for an energy company, Sempra Energy, and Duvall is vice chair of the Committee on Utilities & Commerce.

So there is some clear and obvious conflict of interest when a legislator is actually in bed with a lobbyist.
