GOP insiders embrace Trump's presidential bid - Yahoo! News
Out with Sarah. In with The Donald.....
GOP celebrities like Sarah Palin aren't getting much buzz. Mainstream candidates like Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty aren't getting much traction. It's people once considered highly unlikely to compete seriously for the party's nomination who are creating big stirs in early voting states, a reflection of an unformed and uncertain GOP presidential field.
GOP activists in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina appear deeply intrigued by, and open to, a run by Donald Trump.....
Here you go Republicans....here is your man. Run Donald Run.....With his extremist birther views and bad tupee....I think he is the perfect GOP candidate.
Trump/Palin 2012
I would like to see the GOP come up with someone better than Donald Trump. I'm not exactly jazzed at the idea of another 4 years of Obama.
Let me say I am not a Trump fan. But I do find his 'America is Great' rhetoric something that the country needs today after two plus years of the apologist n chief running around bowing to every other country's leader he can.
The so called 'birther' crap is/was really little more than a headline grabber for him, and on substantive issues, I would love to see Obama, and Trump debate.
In the end though, I don't think that the GOP would be best served by a Trump nomination. Nor do I think he can do anything but split the vote running as an indy candidate.
But we do live in interesting times.

I would liek to see a valid, reasonable alternative. We need better people running overall. Let's try to make it a choice betwen better people and not the least bad. That would be a great change, real change.
To be honest, I'm kind of sick of politicians utilizing patriotism to get votes or support. We had plenty of that post-9/11. To me, patriotism is much more than making empty statements like "America is great" or buying a bunch of flags from Walmart.
Yes, we can't take much more of people being proud or their country can we?

Where did I say that? You and I both know that it has absolutely zilch to do with being proud of one's country. It's a political strategy. I find that disgusting. Patriotism is better than that. I would criticize democrats for doing the same thing.
And whom would be that "valid" or "reasonable" candidate on the GOP side for you Joe?

I once voted for Dole. Someone like him would be reasonable. I once thought well of Grassley in Iowa, but he appeased tea party members without standing up to their silliness. Lost him some respect. I like Huckabee as a person, but can't support his ideas. He wouldn't likely win either.
What you need is someone who isn't a birther, doesn't see socialism everywhere, understands negotiation isn't a dirty word, can spell republican, and can talk issues more than spout platitudes. This would be good for both sides.
Do you believe that America is a great nation?

Thats the problem with the teaparty brats they are no different than the most disgusting woman on the planet Nancy Pelosi..they want to ram WHAT THEY WANT down everyones throat just like she did, we saw how america felt about that..and the worm will turn on the teaparty far right also. America does not like either extreme...thats why INDEPENDENTS and MODERATES always determine the victors not far left loons or callous want it all far righters.
Bob Dole? You have got to be kidding....Dole is blamed in a lot of repub circles of the reason we lost that election. .... Wha...Oh I get it....You prefer a weak ass repub candidate up against your guy to ensure a win for your guy...Ah well, I didn't think anything less.
As for TEA partiers , yes it is silly to revere and want our politicians to get back to following the Constitution isn't it......?
Well, I originally asked the question of you to get a good chuckle out of it. But I'll tell ya seriously, when we want the liberal socialists, children to pick our candidate for us we'll give a call ok?

Taxation: Forget raising taxes, Trump wanted to tax, at 14.25% the net wealth of “the evil rich.” Money that was already taxed. Of course, he played the “I’m raising taxes on myself” card to prove his selflessness. (Ironic given his inability to settle his own debts…) His 1999 plan:
Raise $5.7 trillion to erase the nation’s debt and save $200 billion in annual interest payments
Use the savings to save Social Security and slash taxes for the middle class
Increase his personal tax bill by at least $725 million.
Healthcare,: “I’m a conservative on most issues but a liberal on health. It is an unacceptable but accurate fact that the number of uninsured Americans has risen to 42 million. Working out detailed plans will take time. But the goal should be clear: Our people are our greatest asset. We must take care of our own. We must have universal healthcare. Donald Trump
Then: “I support a woman’s right to choose, but I am uncomfortable with the procedures. When Tim Russert asked me on Meet the Press if I would ban partial-birth abortion, my pro-choice instincts led me to say no. After the show, I consulted two doctors I respect and, upon learning more about this procedure, I have concluded that I would support a ban.” From his 2000 book.
Update 3: Now that Donald Trump is claiming that the Tea Party is the be all end all, isn’t it quite peculiar his support AGAINST nearly every tea party candidate in the 2010 cycle? He opposed Sharron Angle in favor of Harry Reid (and gave Reid almost $5k to defeat her). He supported uber-Rino Charlie Crist over Marco Rubio. He supported Arlen Specter over Pat Toomey. He donated the max to Kirsten Gillibrand over Joe DioGuardi. He donated to far left congressman Anthony Weiner and Carolyn Maloney. His one “big” uhhh “conservative” donation was $50k to Karl Rove’s American Crossroads PAC. Needless to say, Karl Rove is about as anti-Tea party establishment RINO as they come. This is a man who has NEVER done anything for either the Tea Party or the Republican Party or for Conservatism, and is now running around waving all three banners as though he is the Braveheart of the Right.
That's is such utter crap. You don't like Nancy Pelosi's politics fine but she didn't force anything: she led. The problem with centrists is that all they do is sit and criticize everybody but they have no leadership to offer but to stick their heads up their asses and blow.
