The whole of right wing identity politics is just being a triggered snowflake about the mere existence of anyone who is "different" or "other."

It's why fascism always eats itself. If you managed to kick out all the non-whites and queers tomorrow and were only left with white cisgendered straight folk, they'd start fighting each other over religion, or hair color, or eye color.

It hasn't been us getting triggered by names or statues.

Things were fine until the left got all butthurt and offended at things as silly as names.

He was a Navy LT that was kicked out of the Navy for being gay. He was assassinated pushing for equal rights. Pretty good reasons.

Another doozy is that Hegseth is tweeting about Omaha beach and "we will never forget". He also wants to rename the ship named for Medgar Evers, a guy that landed on Omaha beach.

I'm guessing both have seen more US military service than you and more action that Pete Hegseth.

That would be another stupid name for a ship.

If you want to use Harvey Milk then name one of the gay Disney CruiseLine's after him.

That would be far more appropriate.

Almost all names of US ships are political. And as much as I myself detest it, that is simply how it is.

To be honest, I take much more offense at the name of CVN-82. But for the same reason I object to the names of CVN-76, LCS-10, DDG-124, DDG-137, SSN-23, and SSN-808.
