Really? Where in the consitution is that? Is it ok to force a "gay agenda" (as the right calls it) as well?
So the answer is defund the schools hurting the kids education?
When it comes to accepting federal funding, they apply rules. You're playing "naive" when you know this can and has been done.
Do you honestly support these type of zero tolerance rules in schools? Does it not bother you they refuse to change them despite public outcry?
The ONLY reason this country has a 21 year old drinking age and a .08 legal blood alcohol limit is because the Fed threatened to cut off highway funding to states that didn't comply.
Did you have a problem with it when that happened?

No, the answer is to get rid of the stupid rules.
Why aren't school boards allowed to make local rules? I guess national education is a Republican goal now.[/QUOTE
Despite occassionally hearing some noise about the federal take over of education from GOP figures, the Republican establishment hasn't seriously opposed federal involvement in education in quite some time. In fact, they have expanded it (see No Child Left Behind). As for this particular bill, cutting off the lure of federal dollars is a guaranteed way to make schools drop these ridiculous policies. No school is going to risk being cut off from the federal teet over zero tolerance.
So while I truly wish we could go back to state and local controlled (and funded) education, if we are going to blindly pump federal dollars into the education system this is one of the less objectionable strings they could attach to it.

How else would you remove these draconian and downright stupid rules from schools? .
So you punish everyone. How so very draconian and downright stupid.

[h=5]Ok so i think those "zero tolerance" rules are a bit drastic when it comes to "playing" with imaginary guns but i also think this bill is also a bit drastic supporting defunding of these schools that have these rules.[/h]
Or we will destroy your school by not funding it.. Correct?
Educate yourself, there would be no "punishment" if the rules are removed. The outcome would be solely up to the school boards and administrations. Not sure why so many aren't getting this.
Because they're liberals?
Are all these school boards and administrations liberal? I have no idea. Oh wait, you're assuming my position is based on linear politics in lieu of right and wrong. You're clearly mistaken.
So the answer is defund the schools hurting the kids education?
Liberals are the majority in education and administration. I did a story a couple of days ago and the studies suggest that, at least among universities, liberals make up more than 70% of professors and staff. Conservatives make up 15%.
You do the math.
Regardless, not sure what political affiliation has do with it. The zero tolerance rules are wrong, doesn't matter what the ideology of those that proposed them are.
Are you OK with a kid being suspended for playing cops and robbers, making a gun shaped pop tart or brining in a 1 inch toy gun or neon colored nerf gun from home? These rules are absurd and those that administer them refuse to yield.
I don't agree with that. Do you think zero tolerance for murder is a bad thing? Where it becomes a problem is when they have zero tolerance for something that is legal to do outside of school. That's stupid.
Which is why we need to present the administrators with a choice. Either stop with the stupid rules or don't get paid.
We're talking about the zero tolerance rules for schools in regards to toy guns, pretend shooting, etc...who the hell is talking about murder?!?
Thats exactly what this does. The bill being proposed is "get rid of these stupid zero tolerance laws (regarding kids playing fake gun games, making fake guns out of other objects, nerf or toy guns, t-shirst, etc) or lose your funding."
You didn't specify, you just said "zero tolerance rules". There are lots of zero tolerance rules that are perfectly fine, there's no reason to be against all of them, just the idiotic ones.
Personally, I'd lose my friggin mind and consider a lawsuit if this happened to one of my kids.
