DENISON, Iowa – Republican activists in this key presidential state have a dark, foreboding feeling that America is in decline. They believe the nation is hurtling in the wrong direction and, worse, on the brink of losing its unique place in the world.
That sentiment is hardly new to American politics, but it’s one that’s been reanimated by the presidency of Barack Obama. Some see him as hostile to the notion of American exceptionalism. Others simply don’t believe he’s an American at all.

Obama responsible for American decline?

If you think our problems are less than two years in the making, I don't know what to tell you.
edit: Generic "you," not referring to any individual.

What do you mean? I was responding to your question.Did you even read the quote, or the article?

He tripled our national debt in two years.
You don't find that notable?
What do you mean?
No, "he" didn't. The largest pieces of the deficit jump were the economic downturn and the bush administration's tax cuts.
Numerous factors are at play here. Blaming Obama for everything is just nonsense.
*in my best Obama impression* Ahem, let me be clear....Again.....Did you read the quote, or the article I provided?
j-mac
Why do you ask? I was responding to your question and I'm not sure what part of the article you think is relevant to... uh... whatever point you're trying to make to me.
So the answer is no...thanks for playin' I'll wait for someone who actually wants to talk about this and not just blather on talking point hyperpartisanship.

Politico isn't liberal. A significant portion of conservatives/republicans don't think he's american. To fault them just for reporting that in an article that otherwise isn't critical of Republicans in general is silly. Simply looking for reasons to get butt-hurt.Unbelievable! Politico is showing its liberal bent here. I don't know about you, but I do see Obama as hostile to American exceptionalism. But to throw in the "birther" crap is over the top in my mind. What say you? To both questions: Is Obama responsible for American decline? and Is Politico a now hack site for using "birther" nonsense to make its point?

Dude, you asked the question and I answered.

Um, no you didn't....you said.
That is not answering, now I'll ask again.
did you or did you not read the darned article?

Reread your OP. There's a question in it.
I answered that question.
Then you asked me if I read the article but STILL have not explained why you asked that. I read the article.

thanks, whew, after two pages just to get you to say if you even read the article, I have to ask, did you not understand the implications of that article?

Not true. Stop listening to Beck.
The debt was 10.6 trillion when Obama took over in 2009, and is now 14.1 trillion.. that is in NO WAY a tripling.
And if we go by budget years, then the debt under Obama budgets is gone from 11.8 trillion to 14.1 trillion.
Now if you are looking for a tripling.. look at Reagan
Bush took it for 5 trillion to almost 11 trillion.. that is a doubling.
Like it or not, your comment is utterly false.
Is Obama responsible for American decline?
Utter bull****, and you aren't worth the time.
