I don't know where to post it or even if I should write it, but anyway...

I spent a lot of time on this forum. I talked to many people. That's cool, I saw that most of them had different points of views.

However.

There are 2 tribes here, the liberals and the conservatives. Most of them bash each other. No one convinces the other. They don't even seem to read the other's arguments. There is a very deep division and I'm not used to it.

I tried to explain my own point of view. Many of you disagreed, but that's not the problem. The problem, it's that I had the feeling to be fair, I tried to bring arguments, while the answers were always the same. When I tried to show that the USA were not perfect, I was "bashing the USA". When I showed statistics, they were simply ignored. When I showed external links, it was irrelevant. When I tried to explain myself, it was as if I was insulting everybody. There was nothing constructive.

Now I think I should give it up.

And just for the record it was you who wouldn’t budge. You came in with a fixed opinion about the US that you wouldn’t back up.

We know the US isn’t perfect, hell I've said it many of times.
Maybe one day you'll learn that just because things get tough it doesn’t mean one should give up.

I think you should keep your *** on this site, due to the fact that regardless
to who might dis-agree with you..you are allowed to express your likes or
dislikes, and thhere is things that will happen in life that we can't run all
the time.

I am a Muslim that was born and raised here in America, but the fact that
there's a war in the middle east do not prevent me from defending my
people, and we all have the rights to express our dislikes. Keep coming
to this site as long as you want to. Do research about different items
concerning the American government and people, and post what you think
about your findings and review your feedback. Again, I am not going to
say good bye. Because I do not believe in the word Good Bye. Good Bye

If you don't like what you see, lower your standards. Or at the very least, change the goal you're expecting. Americans are selfish, ignorant, narcissistic, arrogant, too much TV watching, a.s.s.holes who are too stupid to vote responsibly or communicate like a rational adults. Some are very caring and intelligent, others are simply cretons.

You're not going to change anyone. That's up to the reader. It's more important for you to get your word out and let the chips fall where they may. It is okay to fail, it is not okay to quit!

I know what you're saying. There are people that no matter how many facts you present to them, they aren't going to see your point of view, and they will spin the facts in a way that no rational person would. Yes, it is frustrating. IGNORE THEM. Continue to post. You will learn whom to ignore, whom to laugh at, and with whom you can have substantive/thoughtful exchanges. It's like real life.

That is particularly irritating because I made efforts to be fair. Terrorism is an example but it is the same on every topic, and not only with you. I try to explain something and you focus on a misinterpreted part and ignore/don't understand my argument. But I suppose I do the same.

2) You don't give me any credit.


This is extremely irritating because I make researches. I don't post only what I think myself but what I read in books and in my courses. I don't agree with you but that does not mean I am wrong. What if you thought I am wrong because you don't understand my arguments? I don't know how to say it, but try to be in my shoes!


3) You are agressive towards the people you don't agree with. Just look how fast you become rude! Show them my last PM! Where was it disrespectful? And look at what you wrote! Your answer was disproportionatley agressive. Maybe I chose the wrong words, maybe it looked rude, I don't know. I wanted a constructive debate, not a quarrel!

I appreciate you trying to balance things out bub, but seriously man, you just got's ta chill. Accept people for what they are. Cherokee is an aggresive writer. He was/is a Marine. I like his natural and honest style. He is passionate.
