Fighting in Sudan between forces loyal to two top generals has put that nation at risk of collapse and could have consequences far beyond its borders.
Both sides have tens of thousands of fighters, foreign backers, mineral riches and other resources that could insulate them from sanctions. It’s a recipe for the kind of prolonged conflict that has devastated other countries in the Middle East and Africa, from Lebanon and Syria to Libya and Ethiopia.
There are large number of countries in Africa, all different on various ways. I have lived in two DRC (then Zaire) which has never had any good news reported about it, and Botswana which is a good news story in every way.Are there any?
Just asking.
Good job. You're on your way.
Zambia. It was Zambia. And it was the leader of the opposition. Harris had been well received by the people and the government and that guy of course had to oppose her.Well, not that I follow what she's doing all that much, I think I remember reading something about our Vice President making an Africa tour recently. Seems she did her usual word salad speeches...I think someone important in one country...Nigeria, maybe, laughed at her.
You didn't have a clue what you were talking about so how could you say it was good news? All in all, I'd say that's good news.
Every year I grow a sativa strain of pot from Malawi and it's good news! There are large number of countries in Africa, all different on various ways. I have lived in two DRC (then Zaire) which has never had any good news reported about it, and Botswana which is a good news story in every way.
Vice President Kamala Harris paused Friday during a whirlwind diplomatic swing through Africa for something much more personal: A visit to the site of her maternal grandfather’s home in Lusaka, where he lived as an Indian public servant in the 1960s.
Slow day?Are there any?
Just asking.

South Africa’s ‘black mermaid’ is changing ocean narratives
Why do so many people regard the ocean as a ‘white space’? South Africa's first black freediving instructor is changing the narrativewww.positive.news
When Zandile Ndhlovu started scuba diving in her native South Africa, she was the only black person on the boat. Beneath the surface of the ocean she had discovered the place where she felt most herself – “an incredible world filled with wonder” – but it was seen by her fellow black Africans as a “white space”.
To the dismay of her family, her love of the water compelled her to give up her steady 9-5 job to spend her life in a wetsuit, as she trained to become South Africa’s first black African freediving instructor.
“My grandmother thought I was crazy … my whole family did!” she laughs. “I belong to the Zulu tribe and a lot of people say to me ‘why do you do white people things?’”
There is a wealth of great TV shows out of SA and Nigeria.Neither.
Im am just seriously and honestly asking for good news.
Hopefully.
Namibia is a multilingual country wherein German is recognised as a national language (a form of minority language). While English has been the sole official language of the country since 1990, in many areas of the country, German enjoys official status at a community level.[2]
German, a Germanic language, is especially widely used in central and southern Namibia and was until 1990 one of three official languages in what was then South West Africa, alongside Afrikaans and English

While there are legitimate political and economic headwinds, there are also reasons for optimism.
And now they've screwed themselves by making deals with an even bigger devil (China)Well, they kicked out the European colonists who wrecked their countries and gained their freedom.
