I'm going to the cubs game, got some bleacher seats, because it's going to get nasty there. We have lost 9 straight home games, and Baker is feeling the heat. I can't wait to see what they are going to do today, I have a feeling they will break out today, but hey, I'm a Cubs fan.:3oops:

Has anyone ever see such talent wasted, we are third in the bigs for payroll, and we are 20 games under 500, a stinking 338% of our games played. It's getting pretty bad here on the northside.

HAHA, I enjoyed attending the game last Saturday to watch the Twins whoop up on the cubbies. Perhaps they were still hibernating.

:2wave:

According to my friends, that are Cubbie fans, that's all a part of being a Cub fan.

The team may suck but their fans are awesome.

Best o' luck to you and the Cubs Dee.

WE WON!!!!!!!!!!:2wave:

What a game, Lee comes back in the bottom of the 8th inning with a two run homer, and we go on to score 3 more. The fans were going nuts, and the beer flowed freely, another beautiful day at Wrigley Field!

Ha, take that you Brewers fans.;)

I had to watch the Chi-Sox, the Tigers and the Indians own my Cardinals... they got their a$$es handed to them 8 out of 9 by them... The AL Central is tough...

We need some pitching like nobody's business...

Tis true, the AL has become the dominate force in MLB, I remember when we owned them on a regular basis, now the tides have turned. Personally, I blame their stupid DH rule, it's an unfair advantage, it's like having an extra player, even when they do come to an NL park, they still have an all-star on the bench every game!

Still Deegan, good pitching stops good hitting and when my team has bums, save Chris Carpenter, for pitchers and your team has pitchers with tin can arms, save Maddox, it doesn't matter.... The AL has the best pitchers in the game, too...

Heck, Pujols & Rolen are on tears and we still couldn't keep up with the Chi-Sox. And where'd the heck the Tigers come from?

Well, I agree, you need good pitching, and it's probably the most important over all, but without hitting, well you could lose a whole lot of games 1 to nothing! The Tigers got Leiland, and another important part of any club, a really good manager, we don't have one.:(

If you were a pitcher, wouldn't you rather pitch in the AL? They don't have to bat. This means they can throw at people's heads without fear of retaliation. They don't have to run the bases. They don't get pulled early due to pinch hitters and scoring opportunities.

It's amazing how the Cards stayed in first place after losing 8 in a row. Yes, we need pitching. I think LaRussa might be at the end of his relationship with the organization. He has been there for quite some time now.

Of course I would, and for the same reasons you have mentioned, I think it's a huge advantage, but I will admit I am biased.:3oops:

I will trade you a Dusty for a Tony anyday of the week my friend.

Only if we get Derek Lee in the deal.

I'd rather have Zambrano, we need pitching more than hitting right now. And I hear that Smoltz wouldn't mind a trade....

Yes, we do need pitching. Zambrano is an emotional time-bomb. He isn't consistent enough. I wouldn't want him pitching in a big game because it is too easy to get inside his head. Now, Smoltz on the other hand would be great.

Smoltz would be great, instead we got Jeff Weaver... JEFF WEAVER?! JEFF WEAVER?!?!? Why Jeff Weaver? jeez...

Zambrano is an emotional time bomb, but so was Tavarez... heck at this point, I'd almost take Canseco!!! LOL How you give up 14 runs to the Braves I have no idea and call yourself a major league pitching staff, I have no idea...

It's called being young and dumb, but it's good to know you Cardinals fans would pass on such talent, we aren't the only ones, lol!

That would be funny if you didn't have such horrible luck with pitchers. When the Cubs recognize talent they trade it away until their best years are behind them.

Perhaps after the first sweep since 72!

No, seriously, we can't possibly give up Maddox, Cubs fans would not be happy about this, certainly this Cubs fan would be very upset.:(
