I applaud them...finally some gumption is shown!

I don't care what they do so long as they don't step on the rights of others and allow (should a muslim, Jewish, Wiccan, Hindu, buddhist, etc... ever be present and desire to do so) the chance to ask for their deity's blessing as well in such a formal way.

Christians, Muslims, and Jews worship the same God.

Yeah... I don't really care who worships what. So long as they all respect and tolerate the various religious beliefs without respecting any specific religion more than the others.

I don't really see a problem with it. If it can help with the debt crisis then great.

While it is idiotic, the fact is, the only one who is going to do their job, or fail to do their job, is themselves. Asking some imaginary friend in the sky for help isn't going to solve the problem. Get off your knees and do something useful.

In general, anything coolwalker likes is the opposite of all that is good in this world. However, in this case, I don't really care. He just said a prayer... I assume religious folks do that all the time.

1) You need to learn what the separation of church and state actually is.

2) I think most of us atheists are actually indifferent.

Making the classic error of confusing "separation of church and state" with "separation of religion and politics."

No, they didn't.

Cool.... They prayed in a meeting...:sarcasticclap

Oh please spare me the condescension. Liberals think praying at football games infringes on the separation of church and state. Apparently you didn't get the memo that there is a little humor involved.

Frankly I think the pastor is the only one in the committee chamber that knows what the hell he's doing.

I woke up this morning, feeling like crap due to some unresolvable issues at work. I prayed and said "God, I am going nuts, I know you gave me this problem for a reason, but I am beginning to get overwhelmed, please fix it" Today it got fixed.

Stuff like that works.

Well I'm glad we don't make unfair generalizations all that much around here...

Defrauding gullible people for a paycheck?

So you still don't know what it means, and are still trying to assign actions to others despite those others not reacting nearly as you expected.

No doubt they asked him to be there, and I find it ironic that you won't say the same for the other members in the room.

Go find out who's trying to keep a prayer by FDR for the troop on D-Day out of the WWII memorial.

I just think we should leave god out of this, it's just not helpful.

So, let me get this straight: you're mad because Obama did not want to spend money to add a plaque of a quote by someone that conservatives don't even like to the a monument that already exists? Wouldn't that be two things you would normally agree with if it was anyone other than Obama doing it?

1) Not spending money
2) Not touting FDR

Sounds like something every token conservative would usually get off to in my book.

Interesting...
