I won't be buy ANY GM, Chevy, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep. Not only do they have extremely crappy quality, they cost us tax payers a pretty penny. Plus who the hell wants to pay $5000 every few years to replace the batteries?
Buy Toyota, help put me back to work.
The batteries have a lifespan of over 10 years. Do the research please, it is clear you know jack **** about the Chevy Volt.
The batteries have ab 8 year/100,000 mile warranty. I think we all know how warranties work.
GM: Chevy Volt Battery Warranty is eight years/100k miles
It's clear that you don't know jack **** about the Chevy Volt, sir.
"Ten years is the target life (for the battery). Depending on how you use it and where you live, you could see significantly longer time," said David Wallace, engineering group manager for Voltec Battery Systems
Are you going to save enough to offset the $800 a month note and the $2,500 battery you're going to have to buy after three years?
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- General Motors said Tuesday its new Chevy Volt will get 230 miles per gallon in the city, dwarfing the current mileage leader and giving the automaker reason to crow about its strides in fuel efficiency.
GM, fresh out of bankruptcy, is looking to the Volt to highlight a parade of 25 new vehicles by 2011 aimed at stemming market-share declines and bringing the automaker back to profitability. The Volt could also give GM a much-needed makeover in terms of its reputation for lagging behind the push toward "green" technology.
Scheduled for late 2010, the Volt will be able to travel up to 40 miles on electricity from a single charge, based on testing of pre-production prototypes and extend its overall range to 300 miles or more using a flex fuel-powered engine-generator.

*** I was not sure where to post this if there is a better place than BN please move. TYIA
ROFL, the link you posted just states the WARRANTY that Chevy offers, NOT the life of the battery.
I can tell it's time to school you:
For Chevy Volt drivers, battery life will vary | Green Tech - CNET News
Even if the battery were to last 8 years (of which it is warrantied for), it is a hell of a lot further a way then your stupid comment of:
Now do some research instead of making foolish comments of things you obviously know nothing about.
Sorry I'm not going to read the whole thread to see if this was already stated so sorry if it has.
The problems with the Volt is that when you plug it in to charge up for the night it literally doubles your energy bill at that time. Second from what I have heard you have to have a special setup in order to charge it.
The DTS is garbage
The STS is based on the CTS, and just made larger.
The CTS V is the King of Caddies, and can compete with with the big boys of luxury sports sedans from Germany
Please. The CTS is crap. I wouldn't give that POS to my worst enemy. The DTS is lord and master of Cadillac.
Oh and since you obviously have zero knowledge of basic history around cadillac you would have known the STS was around for years before the CTS was even drawn on paper.
And before you snap those fingers, it was called the Seville before the STS just like the DTS was the Deville.
The CTS's ancestor was the Catera. And just like its offspring it too was a POS on a German Oldsmobile frame.
Cadillac STS - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaThe front wheel drive Seville was retired in 2004, replaced by an entirely new STS model based on the rear wheel drive GM Sigma platform. All wheel drive is offered as an option, the first Cadillac sedan to be available with this drive system. The STS carries on the Magnetic Ride Control suspension, which has bragging rights as being the 'fastest reacting suspension ever,' before it was ever utilized on newer Corvettes and Ferraris.
The Cadillac STS is assembled at GM's Lansing Grand River facility in Lansing, Michigan along with the smaller Cadillac CTS sedan and Cadillac SRX crossover SUV
You seem to be stuck in the past here
Cadillac STS - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The CTS was the first Caddy built on the Sigma platform which was then used for the STS redesign and the first gen SRX
The DTS is front wheel drive and a derivative of a platform first introduced in 1980. It is the Caddy for the gezzers
More Efficient than a Prius
Hydraulic hybrids caught the attention of the Environmental Protection Agency, because the system promises 25 – 45 percent improvements in fuel economy and emissions. The E.P.A. is working with Eaton Corporation to install hybrid hydraulics in a number of United Parcel Service trucks. Eaton and Peterbilt have also announced joint development of garbage trucks. While delivery trucks, and other vehicles which make frequent quick stops, could experience the greatest benefits from this technology, it’s possible that hydraulic hybrid technology could be applied to passenger vehicles one day.
Jim O’Brien, of Hybrid-Drive Systems, LLC, in Deerfield Michigan, has moved the technology one step closer to reality by converting a 1968 Volkswagen Beetle to a hydraulic hybrid. “We are not aware of anything else like it,” O’Brien said. “This new powertrain is more efficient than electric hybrid powertains being used in such cars as Toyota Prius and Ford Escape.”
Yes the STS used to be called the Seville, the Seville used to be a front wheel drive car as well. Then GM changed the design and based it on the CTS platform. It is NOW a derivative of the CTS.What part of the STS was the Seville don't you understand?
Need a picture?
See the Seville? See the timline? See the STS? I rest my case.
Whatever makes you feel better about your toy car you go for it. The DTS is the bigger badder and more expensive car than the CTS for a good reason. Its just plain better.
And when you get older, here is the equivalent car for CTS owners
Honk your little horn for me.

The DTS is a car for the elderly. It is the modern American luxo barge that no one who likes driving buys.
Just so you CTS V is more expensive then the DTS as well
As for the car DTS drivers will be riding this is it
Now as for what car I would want to be in. A car for the dieing, or a car that can do 0-60 in less then 5 sec's and carry 5 people in comfort
Do you have any idea of how cars are engineered and designed?LOL Thats the equivilant of claiming the Honda Accord is the derivivative of the Pontiac Tempest because they both have windows.
So you think comparing the most expensive DTS to the cheapest CTS V you can find is an honest comparison?Wrong again

You don't need a plug-in station at your work. The gasoline engine that kicks in gives the car a total range of 400 miles. When the gasoline engine kicks in, GMC claims the mileage is around 50 MPG.
Dude you can't argue with the Ecto-1.
Please. The CTS is crap. I wouldn't give that POS to my worst enemy. A volume control 2 inches wide on the front of the steering wheel? Whose bright idea was that? Granted, it could compete with the top of the line Fiat in a pinch.

Small cars can sell for premium prices in Europe, with many lux add ons that can drive the price higher. While smal cars in the US are labelled as "being cheap" cars and the price point is the main focus. So a small car that gets a large amount of high tech items like a modern diesel engine, a nav system and leather seating will sell in Europe allowing for a profit to be made, it would not sell in the US as most US consumers would rather spend the money on the larger car then the smaller one

I think so, but don't hold me to it. It also depends. While probably bigger than the Metro which was essentially a lawn mower with a roof, I think the Prizm was a sedan.
Anyway, for some reason older cars always got better gas milesage, and I don't think it was just because of the horsies or cylinders. The new Smart car (parent company is Mercedes-Benz I believe) is a three-cylinder car and it only claims 41 MPG city. My old Nissan from my teenage years damn near got that, and it had a bit of zip to it.
