Glen beck nailing it with syria

Thanks for the source, it looks like they're not absolutely sure though. But I'd say even more reason to consider not getting involved.
More to the point...because the finger isnt pointed at the Assad government, you didnt even know about it. The world didnt talk about it. No on is considering mass action against the rebels. And this is what we call precedence'.

:agree: The administration says Assad, while the UN says rebels. Everyone has been waiting for the UN report, and here it is! Soooo...now what?

The UN has NOT said rebels.

It's no secret chemical weapons have been used for months now, the first allegations arose in December of last year and soil samples have confirmed their usage.

Medics working in six rebel-held districts near Damascus have treated several hundred fighters for symptoms of chemical exposure since March, a detailed investigation has found, adding fresh impetus to claims the Syrian regime has resorted to the banned weapons.
A reporter from the French newspaper Le Monde who spent two months with rebel groups on the edge of the Syrian capital claims to have witnessed chemical attacks and to have seen numerous victims at various stages of exposure.
The first-hand account, which includes interviews with medics, rebel leaders and patients, is the most-detailed yet among a range of claims that suggest chemicals and or gases have been used on numerous Syrian battlefields.

So?

That doesn't mean everything is the same decades later.

Does that mean you think napalm was different because it was used back in the '60s and '70s?

Sure, we dropped napalm on civilians, but that was decades ago. Don't you dare use poison gas today, as that's yesterday's fashion. It would be like listening to an 8 track, or wearing bell bottoms.

Understood. We can now take the moral high ground as the statute of limitations has run out.

We can take the moral high ground because we are not a dictatorship targeting tens of thousands of our own civilians and employing chemical weapons against them.

1. The a-bombs destroyed Japan's ability to produce chems and subs, each bomb hit factories in full-production of such.

2. Can you deal with the reality of today?

I think Congress will disapprove it.

Millions of people hope so. There must be other ways to remove Assad from power, if that's what this administration wants to do. Although why we would want to get involved in this religious war, that has gone on for centuries, is beyond me!

and the napalm that fell on Vietnamese villages, did it also hit factories in full production of chems and subs?

The reality of today in Syria is that neither Assad nor the terrorists he is fighting deserve our support. Can you deal with that?

If you're done crying about the past, how about you deal with the present. We're not supporting terrorists. The vast majority of rebels are not terrorists. Can you deal with that?

So, that was then, and this is now. The past is mutable, you know.

We're not supporting the terrorists yet. Do you think we should?

I can't believe that fringe lefties will tout Glen Beck at their convenience. Is there no amount of hypocrisy at which such people will balk?
People forget that Glen Beck rose to prominence at CNN by attacking GWB and his fiscal policies. It wasnt until he did the same thing to Obama that he did to Bush that they got their silkies twisted.

Supporting the rebels is not supporting terrorists. It's very easy to differentiate between terrorists and other rebels. The terrorists are not hiding their identity and they are a small percentage.

Beck lost me when he went conspiracy theory and started calling everyone a Nazi. Which is all I ever saw of him.

Oh, BS...You don't know and can't prove what was or wasn't being built anywhere in nagasaki or hiroshima....but it can be proven that we nuked civilians...twice.hundreds of thousands of civilians.

japan was defeated..they had no air force, no army, no navy, no oil and none of the essential resources to build weapons or maintain any hostilities.... and theyare isolated and live on an island. They weren't going anywhere..and they had offered to surrender previously with the only stipulation that they retain the emperor.

Truman wouldn't have that..He had to show off for/give an implied warning to russia.
*pro tip* There is more information available than what is taught in high school "history" books..god help the kids who believes ANY of that revisionist horse manure.

2. Can you deal with the reality of today?
Yes...but don't talk bovine excrement about moral high ground and then ignore history.

Beck lost me when he went conspiracy theory and started calling everyone a Nazi. Which is all I ever saw of him.
He is a caricature...not unlike Limbaugh. Hard to take any of them seriously which is why I dont listen to any of them (other than the occasional Michale Medved broadcast, I stick to sports radio). Just pointing out...those that dont like his schtick loved it when it was 'the other guy'.

Wrong. It's been done here at DP plenty. Photos, the whole deal.

What are we going to do, interview them?

If t he rebels prevail and get rid of Assad, there will just be another regime that is just as bad or worse.
