On Tuesday, voters outside Atlanta will head to the polls to fill the seat in the U.S. House of Representatives left vacant when President Donald Trump tapped Republican Tom Price to serve as his Secretary of Health and Human Services.
The much-anticipated special election will go down in history as one of the most expensive congressional races ever. The Democratic candidate, Jon Ossoff, a 30-year-old documentary-film producer and former congressional aide, has drawn national attention and managed to raise an incredible $23.6 million, largely from donors outside of the district and state. Historically, the next closest House race in terms of dollars raised was Speaker Paul Ryan’s $19.8 million victory in 2016, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
This one is a battle for Tom Price's old seat in Congress, which was once held by Newt Gingrich, and the seat is a symbol for both sides. If Democrats win, it will clearly be a repudiation of Donald Trump. If Republicans win, it will be vindication for Trump supporters, and also be a reminder to Democrats that, even coming close to winning in races in red districts, they still lose. At this time, Ossoff is ahead in the polls by one point. However, I am going to go out on a limb and pick Handel as the winner, mainly because Republicans are meaner and better at no-holds-barred battles than Democrats.
My prediction? Handel 50.7, Ossoff 49.3. The losing streak in red districts will continue for Democrats.
Polls close Tuesday at 7PM Eastern Time, and coverage will be streamed live by many sources. I will be watching this one with a beer in my hand. LOL.

I dont see why there arent more people upset about things like this. We dont let Russia and China fund our federal races, why should we let California or New York fund a Georgia race?

1. Why is it important to Republicans/Trump supporters? It's always been a red district and has been getting closer and closer to turning blue over the years.
2. It's only important to the Dems because they've been screaming from the rooftops about how important it is. It's important to them because they've decided to turn it into a referendum on Trump.
Ironically enough, these Dems aren't motivated by liberal values: only their blind hatred of Trump. After a slew of losses they turned this race into a symbolic race, much like they did with Gianforte vs Quist.
Or the Koch Brothers?
Yes, I dont think anyone should be able to politically fund anything outside of the district that the race is in. Seems to me that it should be an important barrier to help ensure state sovereignty

Yeah, there is that too. Ossof isn't even a resident of the district he's gunning for, so he's literally coming into this race for the sole purpose of being a flunkie to special interests. He's among the worst types of carpet baggers. However liberals have no qualms about how unethical it is for a person that doesn't live in the district to receive millions upon millions of dollars. They hate Trump and Ossoff has a (D) behind his name. Nothing else matters to them.

Dems have to learn how to fight dirty just like the GOP does. Fight fire with fire. This BS that the Dems have to take the 'high road' is nonsense. Republicans like Trump, and these kind of dirty misleading tactics/Ads have been proven to work. The far right has no scruples, they have no conscience.
Fight fire with fire.

What Kool Aid flavor do you like best?
The DNC Hillary & Bernie scandal should have been a eye opener for people with any real objectivity.

Really wish I could vote in this. Come on Ossoff! Handle is simply atrocious.

RealClearPolitics.com polls show Ossof with a 1 to 2 point lead.
... Republicans are meaner and better at no-holds-barred battles than Democrats.
So Bernie was running as a Republican? I did not know that.
I'm talking about dirty tricks against the OTHER side, not family fights. GOP has plenty of them too, but I don't care about that. Nor Dem on Dem pissing matches. I do care about flat out lies and dirty tricks to win elections unfairly.
