Sue him if he wants to be treated equelly and fairly by people who are against his lifestyle, he should then treat those with a lifestyle or opinion he is against equally as the children in the USA say the golden rule? I'm gay and I think this guy is an idiot and he is one of the many reasons that kind of slow down progress in the LGBT community
Gay hair stylist drops New Mexico governor as client because she opposes same-sex marriage* - NY Daily News
Soooo, here it is, the other side of the coin. For all of you who cheered the veto of the Arizona protection of religion bill, we now have the flip side. Governor Martinez' hairdresser refuses to do business with her any more because of her views on gay marriage. Anyone want to try to defend this bigotry? After all the claims of Equality, it seems that equality really ISN'T the point after all.
Personally, I'd sue his panties off just to make a point.

I agree. I'm a Christian business owner who has no problem doing business with gay people... except for one, but not because she is gay but is an unreasonable bitch.
Why would I, as a Progressive, feel any differently about this hair dresser turning someone away for their views then I do about a gay customer being turned away for their sexual orientation? Wouldn't that be inconsistent? The principal here is that we practice acceptance, tolerance and understanding. If a gay person behaves that way they are just as responsible.
BTW, this individual (hairdresser) does not represent the behavior or choices of the entire LGBT community. So unless they get backing from the community as a whole. You really have no point.
This governor is actively persecuting this particular man by preventing him from marrying the person he loves. He has no obligation to "tolerate" that kind of assault on his liberty. Would you accuse a black barbershop of "bigotry" for refusing to cut George Wallace's hair? Discriminating against homosexuals is wrong because its based on irrational prejudice, this man has very valid reasons to refuse to serve his oppressor.

The point being, what he's doing is illegal.
What he did is both illegal and wrong.
Sue him for what?
Under Arizona law politician is not one of the protected classes listed in their Public Accommodation laws. BTW - "Sexual Orientation" is also not one of the classes of persons listed either under Arizona Employment Law or Public Accommodation laws. It's perfectly legal to fire somone for being gay or to refuse them service.
No it's not. Politician is not protected under Arizona law. It might be "wrong" (that is opinion), but it's not illegal.

He has done business with her in the past. Did he not know her opinion on gay marriage then? I agree you shouldn't have to do business with people you do not want to. Keep in mind that this is the context of the Arizona bill where the gay community was all up in arms about. They did not think it was fair for a business to refuse service based on personal beliefs, which is exactly what is happening here.
Discriminating against homosexuals based on irrational prejudice hurts innocent people.
I completely agree and passionately support equality for everyone. My feelings on this issue are that you best serve it when you practice what you preach. So one should try to live it themselves. Even when it is profoundly difficult. Otherwise aren't you just trading places with them? (turning THEM away because of YOUR personal beliefs)
