Elasticity is how sensitive the price of a good is to small changes in quantity. Oil is very price inelastic in the short term. It is very price elastic in the long term.

No, not by drilling.

By changing the vehicles we drive.

We can drive vehicles that don't use very much gas or don't use any gas at all.

We can make opec's oil worthless if we changed the cars we drive.

I bought the first hybrid in 2001. At the time I decided to never buy another gas vehicle again and I haven't.

We can come together to tell opec "BITE ME!"

We can take that financial power away from them, the vehicles are available now. Today.

My question is when will Americans wake up and realize that we have given opec that power and we can take it back?

Capitalism can destroy opec if we used it for our benefit instead of cowering to opec and blaming people who aren't responsible.

We can remove that demand and make opec cower to us instead of us still, after all these decades, cowering to opec.

Every time we fill our tanks with gas we are handing our power and money and making opec more powerful over our nation and lives.

The last thing opec wants is for us Americans to wake up and realize that we don't need their oil for our vehicles and we can cause opec to lose a lot of money by not buying their gas.

I've been waiting since 2001 for Americans to wake up, when is that going to happen?

Yes I've heard all the excuses for not changing the vehicle people drive but it's all old and tired excuses. Seems that people prefer to whine and complain while handing more power to opec than they prefer to take their power back and tell opec to get bent.
