It's the biggest regulatory enforcement action since the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR, came into force in May.

PARIS — France's data privacy watchdog has fined Google 50 million euros ($57 million), the first penalty for a U.S. tech giant under new European data privacy rules that took effect last year.

America should be ashamed that we have barely cared about such things...... it was our responsibility to make sure that the now tech giants grew under proper supervision but we are too corrupt a nation with a largely nonfunctional Government and the people have not cared about any of the ROT generally.

The republicans are going to care during the next election cycle, trust me. This time round was just a tease, testing the waters, no amount of greased pockets is going to prevent it.
