Antisemetic attacks in France have escalated even more in the recent week.

Yesterday French youths rioted through the district of Sarcelles in the city of Paris, setting fire to cars aswell as vandalising and burning down a store selling kosha goods.

Sarcelles is a district of Paris known for having a big jewish population and often referd to in the city as "petite Jerusalem" (little jerusalem)

Riots took place on saturday aswell, with mobs attacking property and stores owned by French jews.

The French government has condemd the attack and has in light of these recent events banned all pro palestinian protests for upcoming weeks.

Just more proof that these people are in no way pro palestinian, but simply antisemites.

I fear that in a few weeks or months we might see another terrorist attack in France directed against jews.

In a twist of irony showing the stupidity of these antisemetic thughs, a record number of French jews are leaving France, due to the antisemetic violence through these people, to emigrate to Israel.

"French" youths.

Looting in Paris as Europeans protest against Israel | News24

The demonstration in the northern Paris suburb of Sarcelles is the third to have deteriorated in the space of eight days in a country that counts the largest Muslim population in western Europe and a huge Jewish community

Who would have guessed that arab and north african immigrants who are mainly muslims would be predominantly anti-jewish. I mean, there is no way to have guessed that. Totally unpredictable.

I'm not saying it's all muslims. A lot of far leftists who were actually french join in the demonstrations too. But the majority were muslims.

Isnt it amazing how in the past 10 years the European far left has become as antisemetic if not even more antisemetic than the far right?

It varies from country to country, but one can definatly say it about the far left in Germany and France, and probably also alot of Scandinavian countries.

Well, yeah. I mean, there is a difference.... sort of.

In Hungary, the far right party there is proper, proper far right, Jobbik. They hate everyone that isn't hungarian, and they hate some hungarians too. You saw reports and even posted news I think about the rise of the anti-semitism in hungary because of jobbik. But they also contribute to the rise in gypsy hatred. Or the rise of hungarian nationalism in bordering countries like slovakia and Romania and Serbia, where there are large populations of ethnic magyars.

But Jobbik is the only really proper, proper far right like, take them out of 1940.

The far right of today is less of that by any metric. It hasn't got any economic policy. It hasn't got any long term vision. All it has is hate. And who do they hate? The groups that can carry the most votes. Like the muslisms. A lot of people would cringe, on the right (not the far right) if you were to be anti-semitic. Not a good angle to get support. But I still think that deeper still is the anti-semitism in far right parties. It's just buried deeper under tons and tons of rubble that is anti-muslim hatred.

It isn't just the European left, but the American far left as well. It may not be as pervasive, but antisemitism and self-professed "socialists", and "Progressives" go hand in hand. Of course, they deny their antisemitism and use words like "outrage" to describe their reaction to any hint that their unqualified support for genocidal antisemites might be considered suspect, but when mobs of savages rampage through France targeting Jews and people show nothing but solidarity with those who do, there is really nothing else to call it.

Why was it who said "antisemitism is the socialism of fools"? Antisemitism is now very much fashionable, and the desire to conform to fashion runs so strong among sheep that it can be irresistable.

I think a lot of the reason why the far left is more likely to be anti-semitic than the far right is because of Israel, since israel is mostly right wing and it seems to be very right wing associated, even if you look at what is considered the opposition there. It is also associated with imperialism and racism which are all considered far right, which is another conversation as to why that is stupid for another time.

Now you know, I don't want this god damn threat to be moved to the ME forum because that's a cesspool so I won't be saying anymore about it.

But I do think that the far right is bad too.
I don't support either and I despise the mentality that says that to escape one paradigm, we need to go all the way towards the other. No... that's not the correct approach. Extremism, on either side, is fought not with extremism on the other side but with intelligence, with identifying and solving problems and that can only be done if you're independent in your political viewing. why? Because then you can observer what is correct and what is false.
In other words, sometimes, maybe the far left is right in some things. Sometimes, maybe the far right is right in some things. But if you are far left or far right, you are already indoctrinated and already going to adopt the whole package...
It's like cable companies. You buy a package because it has the 2 good channels you wanna watch but you have to pay for 30 more channels that suck. But you already paid into the package... and took it whole. That's what being an extremist is, the idiot who lets the company screw him over. The independent would see that this a problem and rally with others, change the policy and make it so that you can buy whatever channels you want and not in packages. Problem solved, win win.

tl:dr: Fight extremism with rationalism. Don't fight extremism with the other side of extremism. That's how democracy dies.

As far as right and left are concerned, in order to really understand the situation, one needs to know what conservatism and liberalism actually mean, because it is those who are rampaging agaisnt Jews here who represent the true conservatism. These knuckle-dragging troglodytes fight to conserve a primitive world that has remained unchanged for 1500 years, they are so conservative.

That the far left fights with them is only an indication of ignorance.

Another article on these anti-Semitic attacks:

BBC News - Gaza conflict: France criticises 'anti-Semitic' riot

These attacks are the reason France has banned protests related to the Israel-Hamas fighting. France is worried that anti-Semitic elements will launch "protests" or exploit protests as a means for conducting additional anti-Semitic attacks.

Not so much in Scandanavia, there aren't really a lot of Jews here.

Unfortunately some of the Continental left have become more interested in tribal politics than actual principled politics.

For example in this sense the left supports palestine on good and basic principles (i.e. palestine is an occupied Territory being disspossessed and oppressed and terrorized by the state of Israel), and then they (some of them) see themselves on the palestine team, which means they sometimes end up supporting some of the very real and very discusting anti-semitism in some dark Places in arab culture ONLY because they are on team Palestinian even though it goes against their principles in theory.

This happens ALL the time on the far right which in europe is essencially nothing more than tribal politics. But it happens on the left too and it's sad.

Very much on topic, but unfortunately in German:

ZEIT ONLINE | Nachrichten, Hintergründe und Debatten

If/when I find the time, I'm going to translate a couple of passages...

From the top of my head: Mr. Benz, professor at the Berlin Institute for Anti-Semitism Research, said true anti-Semitism is lower in Germany than in France and pretty well under control due to the constant topic of the German past, and has been constant for a long time at about 5% of the population. In France, it's more common, and as most Muslim immigrants there stem from North Africa rather than from Turkey as in Germany, anti-Semitism is more common among them too.

He doesn't see that the *attitude* of anti-Semitism has significantly changed in Germany, but that the *expression* of anti-Semitism by these anti-Semites has been rising.
