Just an example, specifically, the DPA should have been used to make face masks, which are much more effective than most of what you see people using, and distribute throughout the US to everyone. Instead, Trump used the DPA to force meat plan workers back to where they were afraid to go due to so many getting COVID and dying. Because of that situation, those specific meat plants have been found in violation of those nasty regs Trump is doing his best/worst to get rid of and were fined the laughable max amt by law.

Nobody gave a rat's ass about everyone using masks early on because everyone was SUPPOSED to be self-isolating. So using the DPA to make masks would have been unnecessary and a wasteful use of presidential power.

But Trump DID use the DPA to get manufacturers to make ventilators, which were in a critical shortage. And it worked. We soon had many more ventilators than we needed.

And that's just ONE example of Trump exercising the powers he actually had to address a critical area...and save lives.

Of course you neatly sidestepped the fact that New York city is extremely densely populated, is a massive tourist destination and is a hub for international transport, with millions traveling in and out each month from America and from across the world. That would have been a more honest response.
